Hmmm...I thought it was the original nook that was affected, STR is the second generation if I remember correctly.

Interesting. With Nook For Pc, I get a network error 1017. Tried logging out, and it won't let me log in either, giving the same error. I will see if I can look up NookStudy and see if it works. It died (stopped logging in) awhile back and I haven't had it installed since.

Nope NookStudy gives the same network issue. Strange it works for you.

Yes same exact versions I have. Really weird.

I also tried the "close before nookstudy can log in" trick, but in my case it gives the error almost the second I click login. I have tried but even task quiting it right as I click log in doesn't help.

Really really WEIRD that it works for some people and not others.

I also found out that the version of Nook for Android that will install to the NT is version 3 of the app (at least that is the one Google Play offers) and won't work after the server upgrades. Guess I have to update the NT then re-root it is my only option now for downloading books.

Well I guess I could set up android under virtual box and see how that goes. But I think the NT fix would take less time.

Both programs are pretty buggy. Even when Nookstudy was an actively supported program, people had trouble logging in. Originally you needed both a B&N account and an Adobe ID to log in. They dropped the Adobe ID part, but people still tend to have better luck if their emails are the same for both -- when ADE is on the same machine.

I really feel sorry for the hoops all of you are apparently having to go though. Makes me very glad I never got a Nook.

I still love my Nooks. But B&N lost my ebook business about four years ago now.

You don't need to buy books from B&N to have a Nook. I have a couple and think they are nice readers.

I found this thread a couple of days ago when I realized I could no longer download Nook books from the B&N website, and my Nook for Mac desktop app no longer worked (I am running Sierra). I had thought I downloaded all of my Nook books long ago (haven't bought one from them in years, as I own a Kobo e-reader), but recently realized there are about 50 Nook books that I don't have on my computer or imported into Calibre.

Thank you so much for the information about the Windows Nook app! I was able to install it on my work computer and it appears to download the books without a hitch. But! I don't know where to find the downloaded files. If you could point me in the right direction, I'd be extremely grateful!
