This will differ per usage. I've been using my Clara for an hour or two a day (plus one day of about five-six hours of reading) for about 10 days now with 3% lighting and WiFi off, and charge is at 86%. EDIT: I suppose reading duration doesn't say it all. In that time I read 251 pages of one book and I finished another book first, but I can't remember how many images were still remaining after the last USB connection (full charge). Additionally, 251+ pages will give more than that amount in actual page turns/refreshes as one book page does not fit on the screen with my reading settings, and I have the full screen refresh (black flash) set to once every 10 page turns... So to sort of ridiculously try to summarise, reading approximately 280 book pages with, say, 460 page turns of which 46 full screen refreshes with 3% lighting in 23 cumulative hours with more than 30 sleep/wake cycles will get the battery from 100% to 86%... It's not. Quote:
They don't have to. I'm not planning to fix anything. I may just try the weight idea merely out of curiosity, but the two/three minor bleed spots along the side bezel really don't bother me. I don't see them whilst reading, and reading is what the device is for. (Unless of course aesthetics is more important than functionality, but I believe that discussion was already conversed somewhere at the beginning of this thread.) Has the time come to close this thread and start making single issue threads?

MR policy is not to close threads without cause, but single issue threads sound like a good idea! I can separate out the LED issue posts and create a new thread, but it will have to wait until later as I don't have the time now. People can continue to post along the topic here if they'd like and I'll move them all later today.

Hi, I love the Clara, have it now used for a month or so, My first one was the Touch 905c. In compare between the two, Clara is much faster, slight crisper display, although i have seen it only with book covers. Wifi being very good, much faster sync. The biggest reason to buy was back light, i was getting tired to use the room light or those mobile lights you click on to your reader case, and especially when reading in bed, somehow i was always in my own shadow. Reading on my Tab or Phone is a no go because of the too bright screens and Tab too heavy, although i read cbr comics on the Tab and have to find out if its readable on the Clara, i suspect not because Clara screen is 6 inch and my Tab 10 inch. About the led bleed issue i red on this forum , i have seen this once or twice and only when i focus on it, that would mean i am lucky to have one where it is not that prevalent or im blind like a bat.. I do love the automatic colour chance, its realy working good and its nice and easy to my eyes. I read mostly only on 1% brightness and maby on 2% in the dead of night. I wouldn't mind it they cut the 1% brightness in half because that would be more than enough for me. The only minus points are, why on earth only 8gig an not 16 or 32gigs, memory is cheap these days. Also you will get about 6 gig of memory to spent because of the OS wil take his share too. And if not extended memory why not water proof the little bugger. All that said, i am happy with my Clara Greetings, |

I'm glad that you like your new ereader Copyer. I also find 10 inch tablets way too heavy to read by. There was a time in which I thought my Ipad would become my main reading device. That lasted for about an hour and then I felt like my arm was going to fall off.

And concerning the led bleed issue: no issue here. It’s not that it’s not there (although not much), it’s just that I don’t let it draw my attention. Very happy with my Clara HD

If you read manga, comics or other books that are collections of images, you run into the same issue. Hence the KA1 LE and the Amazon Paperwhite and Oasis 2 models with 32GB of memory.

Yep. And that's exacerbated by the fact that a single 100-200MB volume/file might take just 15-30 minutes to read whereas 2MB novels take hours.
