BTW, I don't believe .otf is supported on the Kindle. |

Readme file says - Supported font files will have .ttf, .otf, or .ttc file extensions.

Is anyone else seeing poor battery performance after updating to this? My Oasis 2 seems to drain faster following this. (25% in one day, little reading, no indexing)

I see no difference in drain after updating to 5.9.6 and shortly after to 5.9.6.1. From yesterday to today I did have a little over 25% drain though, but that included reading about half a book.

My Oasis2 seems to have better battery after the update(s). Could be just in my head or due to the reboot a update does. But it seems to last longer. Don't take my word for it though.

My Voyage was the only one that had issues with the update. It kept locking up and I wasn't sure if that was because of the fonts I loaded, or if it needed to do something else. After 4 lockups, I just took off the fonts and left it alone for overnight. Seems to work fine now, with those fonts back on. Same fonts I put on the other kindles. |

				TTC font collection

I used Fontforge to combine Noto Serif's regular, italic, bold and bolditalic font files into a single TTC file. Kindle voyage is able to detect the custom Noto Serif font, but only for the regular type. Italics and bold are not rendered.

Has anyone seen encountered this issue? Perhaps the TTC file has to be created with specific settings to allow Kindle to find the other bold and italic format in that file. |

I'd like to use the bold variants of Gentium Basic with the regular ones of Gentium Plus.

I suppose I have to change the font name somewhere in the files. Correct? How can I do that? What software for OS X? Thanks for your help. |

That is correct; if I saved all of them as individual ttf files, kindle will load the italic ttf file to render correctly. But if all 4 were combined into a single TTC file, kindle is only able to use the "regular" font.

I've been trying Fontforge and you can use that app to change the name of the fonts in Elements -> Font Info

Sorry. Fontforge requires X11, but the installation of X11 has failled. I've been just trying.
