No idea what I'll read next, but it certainly will not be related to this in any way, shape or form.
I didn't get on with his writing style, though it could have been the translation.

My hold on Naomi Alderman's novel Disobedience came in at the library. I saw the film last month, so I am looking forward to this.

Just finished Killing Ashish Karve (published earlier as The Body in the Back Seat) by Salil Desai. A cozy murder mystery. Perfect page-turner for a lazy weekend read.

Another good issue.

Now I'm reading The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell. Rather a good take on Arthur, although it took a while to get into it. Told from the viewpoint of one of Arthur's followers. Well, one of Merlin's followers, I suppose.

Finally finished Bill Bryson's "In a Sunburned Country". Starting into Matthew Reilly's "Temple" now.

I'm quite enjoying Disobedience. Growing up closeted in an incredibly conservative religious community is a shared experience for a lot of us. This is just a view into a different type of one of those communities.

I'm doing a re-read via audio of my second favorite Murakami novel 1Q84.

Finished Fuzzy Navel, I'm beginning to thin the author hates his own protagonist: he can't stop ruining her day/week/year/life.

I've begun reading Our Magnificent Bastard Tongue: The Untold History of English by John WcWhorter.

We will see if he has any insights I have not read somewhere else..

Yesterday evening I finished The Custodian of Marvels by Rod Duncan, the third book is his "Fall of the Gas-Lit Empire" trilogy. This was a quite enjoyable book, and gave me more insight into the world, which I'd have to say is more alternate-history than steampunk. It began as a mystery about a book, then turned to revenge, then to a heist. Overall I quite liked this series. The author is writing more books in this universe. I'd like to know his next series ends before investing in it. That means I'll move on to another book next. Not quite decided which just yet...

I've started reading Claire North's 84K.

I have a 50-50 hit rate with Claire North. Loved The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August and have read it three times in the last couple of years. Read Touch and found it a bit meh and found it dragged by the end.

But... I saw 84K at the library and it has some rave reviews and so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm 130 pages in (of 452) and so far it's interesting. Not totally gripped but not bored either.

I've got The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August sitting in the queue (if not next, then not far off), and noticed that Claire North had a number of other books that looked interesting, so I will be interested to hear how you go.

I am interested too... I have read The First Fifteen Lives... and liked it, so it will be interesting to know if her other books are just as good.

...like I need to add anymore books to my TBR.
