Thank you for your answer. When I registered through wifi, I stopped the sync when I realized it was downloading books. Also I prefer to keep to F/Ws who have the patches. Can I apply the 4.8.11073 patches to the mark 7 F/W? If not, I'll have to suffer through an unpatched 4.7.10733 until we have a common F/W.

). I'm in 4.8.11090 (downloaded through desktop) with some patches (I only modified one myself, others were fine) and no bug in home screen (and it has seen a bit of rotation in the books

Could you tell me which patches worked for you without modification? The most important for me is the "freedom to advanced font control", then "increasing the view details container" and "custom left and right margin".

EDIT: That wasn't a good idea! I had more than half of the home screen black, impossible to connect (the button was in the black part). But I could access the parameters (a very small screen) and could reinitialize. I lost the last three hours...

I've loaded 11090 (downloading through desktop) because the last one for Mark 7 didn't work for me. I think "increasing the view details container" worked (or I was able to do it work) but the other two.. I don't use them

This patch doesn't exist for fw 4.8.11090. However, there is a semi-workaround if you have another Kobo where the patch is enabled.

In the [Reading] section of the .kobo/Kobo/Kobo eReader.conf file of your other Kobo (I used my GloHD) you'll see lines like

readingFontSharpness\AGaramond=0.12
readingFontWeight\AGaramond=0.56

Just manually copy all of these, as-is, to the [Reading] section of the ClaraHD's .conf file.

This will give you the boldness/sharpness you just won't be able to adjust them interactively via sliders.

BTW, what you said is what happened to me with the FW in the wiki (small size). That's the reason I downloaded FW through desktop. If you want, I can send it to you.

I remember it being possible to see the web browser on the home screen, many MANY firmware versions ago.
Is this still possible today?

Yes, I know. I've done the same as you for most of the patches (mainly multi-version plus all my nickel patches). However, the "freedom to advanced font control" is totally beyond my ability to re-create. Are you saying you figured this one out? If so, please share. Pretty please, even

Thank you, but "once burned...". I think I'll keep to the "out of the box" 4.7.10733, which was not changed after syncing, until a new F/W, with patches has proved ok for Clara.

No, not that one (as I don't use it, and I've checked and it's beyond my ability too).

Plug my Kobo A into computer last night.
Synced and it installed update from kobo desk top.

Hung on black screen with drawing of kobo with check mark in it.
Restarting in 8 languages.

pin whole, nothing, battery pull nothing, side load .kobo nothing.
Wall charger all night, same thing today.

Will get Blue light and Green light. Screen will not change.

Help.

My Auro cannot memorize the last position where I exit the book, and it always returns to the beginning of the last chapter I was reading. It happens on every recent f/w. Is it normal? Or do I miss anything in Settings? My books are all in kepub formats.

Have you used calibre and the Kobo Utilities plugin to ensure the database is not corrupted?
