I know. Mine's got a Samsung 64GB.

If the Clara HD had soldered 8GB NAND like the H2O/Aura One, it wouldn't be under consideration at all. Now that I know it's upgradeable, I'm quite tempted. As I said earlier though, I'd really prefer a hands-on trial before buying. I like the Glo HD well enough but I find its boxier frame just isn't as comfy as the PW3.

I use the sleepcover myself and I find it quite comfortable, I agree that the bare unit isn't super ergonomic though.

The hackability of the Kobos is really a plus for me too (sd-card, KSM, patched firmwares, sideloading). Sad to learn that the flagship devices aren't has tweakable as the older units.

Again, personal opinion. Many of those who actually own the Nook Glowlight 3 like the way it feels in their hands. The Nook Glowlight 3 also has page turn buttons – so something else to consider.

I have a Kobo Mini and have the Glo HD both have 32 GB cards it them work
great

Will buy the Kobo Clara HD because of the light and 300PPI

Yep, I’ll import it from the Netherlands if Kobo doesn’t offer it in Germany. They skipped over a few other models here, too. Those are the times I’m grateful for the EU.

You can always use Adobe Digital Editions to transfer library books to the kobo.

I can use Overdrive on my KA1 or I can use my computer and ADE. The nice thing is once I borrow a book on the KA1, it shows as a purchase in the Kobo store and I can download it to any of my Kobo ereaders during the loan period. ADE and computer are for those cases the book in the library does not match a book in the Kobo store which still happens now and then.

I tested it yesterday with my Glo HD. It happily downloads the ascm file but the book itself is never downloaded.

Ok, thanks for this, this is interesting. I never realised it worked this way. One of the reasons I persevered yesterday - I tried a few times - was that there was an Overdrive book on my Glo that I didn't remember transferring via ADE. This may explain it.

I contacted the Dutch seller, and they contacted their product specialist, whoever that may be, and they confirmed product height is 159 mm... So neither of the options originally on their product page, and only slightly taller than the Glo (which is 157 mm).

The firmware doesn't support downloading books from the Adobe servers. One of the changes in the firmware last year was if a ACSM file was downloaded to display a message that to that fact. The first time you downloaded one, you should have seen the message:

To read Adobe DRM books, you'll need to use Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to import them to your eReader. Please visit kobo.com/help for more information.

In the config file, there is probably a line starting with "AcsmReminder". Removing that should get the reminder displayed the next time you download an ACSM file.
