Having 2 Files for Each EBook
Newbie David here! I downloaded Calibre today and having a question on saving the library. I have a folder with about 20 ebooks in it. Calibre instructs me to use this folder to import the books into the software. After importing, Calibre goes out to the internet to get the metadata which seems to work fine.
Then Calibre wants me to set up a folder to keep the information when I close Calibre and I did that. When I close Calibre, I went to the folder I created and a copy of the ebook is in there along with the cover and OPF file. I then end up have 2 files for each ebook. One in my original folder and one in the folder that Calibre created! Is this correct how it is done? Can I delete my original folder? Tks for any help - DN |

Yes, Calibre keeps its own copies of your books in the library. You can delete your originals if you want.
