I still don't know how a bad URL would land me at the homepage, instead of giving me the dreaded "Error 404," or some other error-advisement, webpage. But I guess that it doesn't matter now.

My theory (remember: I know almost nothing about the workings of computers or the Internet) was that somehow Amazon had my name/account(s) associated with my I.P. address or something, and they wouldn't allow me to go to the promo page because I was already a member (or had just canceled; I don't remember now).

I used to go to Slickdeals some, and people there do post some great deals. But I had my hands full just trying to check places that I had always been checking.

I just received my 2nd free credit from the Rejoin Audible promo. The 2-for-1 sale was a bust this time, so I ordered 1 book and immediately cancelled my membership. I then turned around and signed up for this promo and got it. I now have another credit.

Bottom line, this promo works even if you cancel your current membership just minutes before signing up for this one.

I was struggling to use my recent free credits, and I managed to find two things here that seemed worth trying. So:
Now, unless some amazing must-read new thing appears on the scene, I think I'm done for a bit.* My To-Be-Listened-To list is now so long, I've forgotten what I have waitingfor me. I'll give the last credit to my wife.

*except for the free stuff I find here....that, plus the library, is why the TBLT pile is so big...

I pre-ordered the free book that Trevor linked to and I'm assuming it qualifies.

What I hate about these types of promos is that Audible doesn't tell you up front if your purchase qualifies. By the time you receive or don't receive notification as to whether or not you qualified, the promo is already over and it's too late to correct any errors on your part.

On closer inspection, the "fine print" says the pre-order must have value of at least $5. The linked free item has a listed value of $2.99, so I see no reason to expect it will qualify.

If any actually gets the coupon because of that pre-order, I'd be curious to hear.
