The random Edward Marston titles for £1.90 at Kindle UK continue...

The Roaring Boy is the 7th in Marston's Nicholas Bracewell series.

link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Roaring-Boy...dp/B00FO82T6G/

Spoiler:
Quote:
One play, two murders and a grievous miscarriage of justice After a calamitous performance and the death of one of their own, Lord Westfield's Men are more than despondent. So when the mysterious Simon Chaloner follows Nicholas Bracewell home with an offer of a new play, anonymously penned, his offer seems too good to refuse. It is a story of a simple death used to conceal a greater treachery, perhaps even treason. But they could never have known how dangerous one play could be. Or how telling the tale of a murdered mathematician might put them all in jeopardy. It is up to Nick to once more save the acting troupe from disaster, to reveal the traitor that threatens both Queen and country, and to prove who really killed The Roaring Boy.

New Orleans Festival of Murder is a collection of - you guessed it - murder mysteries set in New Orleans. Many (all?) of these titles have been free before, either individually or in other collections, but still worth a look because Festival is free right now at Kindle US. Titles include:
  • Jazz Funeral - Julie Smith
  • City of Beads - Tony Dunbar
  • Make Me Dead - Adrienne Barbeau
  • Pick Up Line - Patty Friedmann
  • PI on a Hot Tin Roof - Julie Smith
  • Fire on the Bayou - M.A. Harper (which appears to be more action/adventure or romance than mystery)
  • Private Chick (short story) - Julie Smith
link: https://www.amazon.com/Orleans-Festi...dp/B06XYD1QLQ/

Spoiler:
Quote:
Murder in the City that Care Forgot
Fans of Treme and avid armchair adventurers alike will love this collection of oddball New Orleans tales—specifically, murder mysteries—each revolving around the incomparable lore of the City that Care Forgot. From an untimely demise at JazzFest to a dose of love laced with intrigue amongst an assortment of vivid local characters in an Uptown pharmacy (the kind you could only find in the N.O.), Festival of Murder has a little bit of something for everyone—everyone who loves New Orleans, that is.

Cuddle up with a Kindle and enjoy this all-expenses-paid vacation to the fabled Big Easy (drive-thru daiquiris not included).

JAZZ FUNERAL

The THIRD book in the Edgar Award-winning Skip Langdon mystery series

Everybody loved easygoing Ham Brocato, producer of the famed New Orleans JazzFest. So how did he end up stabbed to death on his kitchen floor?

New Orleans Homicide Detective Skip Langdon just happens to be on hand when Ham’s body is discovered in the middle of his own party the evening before the Fest. To complicate the already murky case, the victim's sixteen-year-old blues musician sister has disappeared, and Skip suspects that if the young woman isn't the murderer, she's in mortal danger from the person who is.

CITY OF BEADS

The SECOND deliciously sneaky mystery in Anthony- and Edgar-nominated Tony Dunbar's Tubby Dubonnet series.

Tubby Dubonnet’s bored. Sure, researching licensing law for the new casino will keep trout meunière on the table, but what could be more tedious? (Unless, of course, the client turns out to be the mob.) Meanwhile, there’s the estate of an old friend who controls some dock leases on the wharf. And he agrees to help his daughter’s environmental group stop illegal dumping in the river. Ho-hum, thinks our hero. But suddenly all three cases begin to converge in an entirely ominous way. And Tubby’s running for his life.

MAKE ME DEAD

A Vampyres of Hollywood mystery by Adrienne Barbeau

As always in a Vampyres of Hollywood mystery, the biting wit is sharper than a nip from a passing vampyre—in a word, humor, wit, and satire are what this engaging series is really all about. Nobody’s better than Barbeau at skewering the foibles of Hollywood and its self-involved denizens, and nobody’s got a smarter mouth than her movie star heroine, vampye Ovsanna Moore, this time in New Orleans for a horror convention. (Fasten your seat belts—lots of fun to be had at the expense of horror conventions!)

PICK-UP LINE

A Love Story With Wit, Charm and Murder by Patty Friedmann

Cupid’s working overtime in the unlikely venue of N.O. Drugs, where plus-sized beauty Ciana Jambon works with dread-locked pharmacy student Lennon Israel, who’s so handsome, so meticulous, he just has to be gay. But she can't help herself—she’s got the crush of the century. And a murder to unravel.

PI ON A HOT TIN ROOF

The FOURTH mystery in Edgar-winning author Julie Smith’s Talba Wallis series.

New Orleans’ most dynamic detective duo, poet/computer genius Talba and street-savvy Luddite Eddie Valentino, have a personal interest in this one—Eddie’s lawyer daughter Angie’s been set up for a drug bust.

PLUS a BONUS! M.A. Harper’s FIRE ON THE BAYOU, the second novel of an epic second-chance-at-love story in Louisiana—with plenty of its own mystery to solve. And Julie Smith’s short story PRIVATE CHICK—because every New Orleans mystery anthology needs at least a dash of detective-in-drag.

A Really Cute Corpse is the 4th in the Claire Malloy series by Joan Hess. It has dropped to £1.02 at Kindle UK.

link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Really-Corp...dp/B00LEFZZVO/

Spoiler:
Quote:
When Claire Malloy's best friend Luanne Bradshaw goes down with a badly sprained ankle, someone must fill in her shoes as Thurberfest beauty Pageant coordinator and usher a bevy of aspiring beauty queen through the two-day event. Enter Claire Malloy to the rescue. But this is one job Claire would gladly be fired from. Now, already fending off a hostile theatre owner, and overly-aggressive personal trainer, an incontinent show-dog, a fifteen-year-old daughter with more growing pains than she can count, and a talent contest in need of some talent, Claire must face one more problem--someone is trying to kill the reigning Miss Thurberfest.

When a ghastly murder scene signals the culprit's success, Claire's investigative instincts take over, but when she digs too close to the truth, the race is on to discover the killer's identity before Claire herself is crowned the next victim...

Nice to see that Open Road has put a bunch of titles on sale for their old $1.99 sale price! (Also a few at $2.99.) Most of these are a few titles per author. I'm in a bit of a hurry, so I'm just listing authors and links - you'll have to go look for specific titles yourself if you need/want something by a particular author. Also note that Open Road price drops are usually only for a VERY short time, so if you want something, best to look/buy now. I've listed the number of titles on sale right now by each link, but these may go up or down as Open Road changes their pricing.

John Dickson Carr (8 titles): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

Brett Halliday (5 titles): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

Lawrence Sanders (5 titles): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

Joan Hess (5 titles): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

Ed McBain (a few at $1.99, a lot more/older prices drops at $2.49 and $2.99): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

Raoul Whitfield (3 titles, link also includes a novella): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

J Robert Janes (5 titles, link includes one stray): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

EV Cunningham (pen name for Howard Fast, link includes four mysteries written as Cunningham, and several other Fast titles - he was a prolific writer): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

ADD:

Edward Sklepowich (2 titles): https://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?se...price-asc-rank

The three titles in Beverly Barton's Dead by series are on sale at Kindle US in an omnibus priced at $1.99 from all three. This is a Daily Deal, so grab it now if you want it. Titles are:
  • Dead by Midnight, apa Time of Death
  • Dead by Morning
  • Dead by Nightfall
link: https://www.amazon.com/Beverly-Barto...dp/B006TH4UKY/

Spoiler:
Quote:
In Murder. . .

The last sounds Dean Wilson hears are a clock striking twelve and a killer's taunting words. And his death is just the first. One by one, victims are stalked and shot at close range. Only the killer knows their sins, and who will be the next to die at midnight. . .

And In Life. . .

In the ten years since her Hollywood career imploded, Lorie Hammonds has built a good life in her Alabama hometown. When the first death threat arrives, she assumes it's a joke. Then she gets a second note. Sheriff Mike Birkett, her high-school sweetheart, has avoided Lorie since she returned to Dunmore, but when investigators uncover her connection to a string of recent murders, he's drawn into a case that's terrifyingly personal.

Timing Is Everything

The Darkest Sins

He begins his work just before dawn, wielding a knife with the precision of a surgeon. Cunning and meticulous, he's always in control. Mercy is not an option. . .

Will Always

Maleah Purdue is tough, outspoken, and completely dedicated to her work at the Powell Security Agency. But her fearless exterior shatters when a madman begins killing her colleagues one by one, mimicking a notorious serial killer already behind bars. Working alongside top profiler Derek Lawrence, Maleah will do anything to find the murderer, even if it means playing a psychopath's twisted mind games.

Come To Light

No one connected to the Agency is safe. No one is beyond suspicion. For as Maleah and Derek piece together the clues, they uncover a chilling legacy of lies and brutal vengeance-and a killer who has been hiding in plain sight all along. . .

The Fear. . .

Malcolm York is a sadistic monster, guilty of unspeakable crimes. And with his endless wealth he's funded a series of depraved hunts. The few who survived can never forget. They can only be thankful the terror is over. Until rumors start swirling. . .

Only Stops. . .

Griffin Powell knows the twisted depths of York's madness. He's also sure that York is dead. But then Griff's wife, Nicole, disappears and the phone calls begin--that familiar voice taunting him, promising to destroy everything Griff loves.

When You Die. . .

Using all the resources of the Powell Agency, Griff searches for Nic, aware that every step propels him further into a madman's web. Because the only way to keep Nic safe is to join one last perverse game where winner kills all, and the loser is dead by nightfall. . .

NOTE: Although SYKM calls these a separate series, I just noticed that the Amazon blurbs call them later titles in Barton's Griffin Powell series. Take your pick...

The Shape of Water is the first in Andrea Camilleri's excellent (IMO) Inspector Montalbano series. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US. There was an omnibus of the first three titles in this series on sale a while back, so check carefully before you buy...

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/Shape-Water-I...dp/B001JTPXVW/
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the-shape-of-water-2

Spoiler:
Quote:
“You either love Andrea Camilleri or you haven’t read him yet. Each novel in this wholly addictive, entirely magical series, set in Sicily and starring a detective unlike any other in crime fiction, blasts the brain like a shot of pure oxygen...transporting. Long live Camilleri, and long live Montalbano.”
—A.J. Finn, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Woman in the Window

The Shape of Water is the first book in the sly, witty, and engaging Inspector Montalbano mystery series with its sardonic take on Sicilian life.
Silvio Lupanello, a big-shot in Vigàta, is found dead in his car with his pants around his knees. The car happens to be parked in a part of town used by prostitutes and drug dealers, and as the news of his death spreads, the rumors begin. Enter Inspector Salvo Montalbano, Vigàta's most respected detective. With his characteristic mix of humor, cynicism, compassion, and love of good food, Montalbano battles against the powerful and corrupt who are determined to block his path to the real killer.

Andrea Camilleri's novels starring Inspector Montalbano have become an international sensation and have been translated into numberous languages.
