Hello everybody,
My Onyx Boox Note has just been stolen in the plane - and I realize now that a big issue of Boox Note is the imposibility to encrypt your data or even to protect the device with a password - at least for starting. I couldn't find a way in the menu to perform that - even if it has Android 6 as OS. Maybe anybody else tried this? Thanks. |

![]() Install Nova Launcher or any other launcher that allows you to access the Marshmallow security settings and setup the screen lock IMPORTANT: This device has an internal SD that is slow (30MB/s for read and write) so, don't enable encryption, with initial password till now should be enough because the boot loader is locked. If you still want to encrypt content, install Boxcryptor Classic on you device and your PC (only version 1.7) and use Dropsync to sync your files, I use this method even in my phone. ![]() ![]() Last edited by citytrader; 04-27-2018 at 09:44 AM. |

Too bad for the stolen Max2...
On the subject of the Max2 and planes: I was on a few international flights with my Max2 recently, and at one of the airports, the security guys spent several minutes looking at my device on their scanners. I don't know what they saw, or believed they saw (there was a lot of electronics for them to look at in my case: a regular iPad, two large-screen eink devices, a standard laptop...) |

I'm enjoying reader the Guardian on my boox note, however, a slight touch on the page auto changes the screen to A2. The A2-icon does not appear, just seeing the rough-edged typeface, instead of smooth.
Anyone knows how to turn off this auto feature? It might be a bug. Thanks! T. |

Of course, as soon as you have finished scrolling the display should return to normal GU mode. I think they have modified Android's WebView to achieve that: it is a customization of Android. |

On my boox n96ml if I use opera mini beta (in extreme data saving mode) the feature you describe fails to start, and it does not revert from a2 after scrolling, though it must be reset manually sometimes, or the screen image goes all "swarmy", where it's hard to see anything. The change, otherwise, is very slow to revert, unlike the Note.
