Looks like Audible is having a half-price sale--I don't see a splash page or e-mail announcement yet, but the prices all seem to be slashed to half of list price.

Based on previous such sales, I assume it's members only.

And yet, the banner says "Take an extra 30% off sitewide. I am so confused. There are some books I would like to get, which I can get any day of the week for $7.47 due to whispersync pricing. So I added one to my cart and went to check out. There was no change in price. So if it was 30% off of the 7.47, I would buy it, or if it was 30% off the half price that is showing for other books, I would buy it. Where does the 30% come in? I don't expect anyone here to know the answer It's too confusing, therefore, I will buy nothing!

Members always get 30% off the regular price of audiobooks; this sale is another 30% off that, or 51% off the regular price. The half-price price you see has already taken the discount, which does not apply to WhisperSync prices that are already lower than that.

Tubemonkey, Downpour seems to keep using the book Open Season as a placeholder; the Daily Steal today is actually The Big Get-Even by Paul Di Filippo, for $3.95.

I also noticed that a book in Shirley Rousseau Murphy's Joe Grey mystery series is showing a price of 60 cents: Cat to the Dogs.

Downpour may be having some issues today, at least with me: I've been trying to make a purchase, but my password keeps being rejected. While it's entirely possible I've made a mistake, Downpour hasn't sent me an e-mail with reset info despite repeated attempts.
