preorder refund

Hi all,

I've been waiting too, after a pre-order months ago. The shipping status changed, I've contacted UPS and they said that the package never arrived at their place.
I did receive a standard e-mail from ereader.de regarding possible 'couple of days' delays of preorders. It's been quite longer than that.

If the communication is this bad, service is probably even worse, once (and if) we get our devices.

Did anyone cancelled the order yet? Got your money back?

Cheers,
Thine

You'll get your money back.

Be careful, Booxtor ask to use the new site (https://ereader.store) not https://ereader-store.de/

This time, the silence is very long from Ereader.store. Few weeks ago, Booxtor said that he put the new firmware on each device ...

In the past, the service was very good in many case.

I'm waiting too for a reply at my questions on the "Contact" page from two days now.

Has anyone been able to reach Booxtor here in the forums?

Edit

Nevermind. He hasn't even been active since 1-18-18 according to his profile page.

That happened to me, too. The paperwork was filed first. However, the messages on the UPS tracking site led me to believe that the package had actually already arrived in Canada and cleared customs. It also initially confused the UPS representative whom I talked to when my package didn't show. She then checked and discovered that the package had not been picked up yet, only the paperwork, which I imagine was filed electronically.

However, my package has since been picked up and I just received an email from UPS saying that they would deliver it tomorrow. I imagine yours will ship soon, too.

Because the device is new, I expect that things are pretty hectic at the ereaderstore right now. I bought my Max from Booxtor last year and he was very helpful, both before and after the sale. However, when i bought my Max, it was well after the initial launch so I imagine that things were not as hectic as they are probably at the moment.

Quite agree. It would also probably do much to lessen the volume of email inquiries. And when one does not respond to email inquiries in a timely fashion, one runs the risk of being considered unreliable, particularly to new potential customers.

If you go look for the onyx boox note starting today, it's a disaster of misinformation littering search engines and forums. All without context and with zero attempt to clear things up by the manufacturer or vendors.
It would take 3 minutes for Onyx to release an electronic press release that would then trickle down the vendor and enthusiast chain.
Quite agree. Not the best way to attract new customers for a product that carries a substantial price tag.

Well, apparently there was some severe weather along the way which delayed my package from arriving in time to make it onto a delivery truck.

But at least it is now nearby and the local weather is fine if cool. So it should definitely arrive tomorrow.

Mine finally shipped from Germany yesterday. Label was created on the 14th. Tracking states that it should be delivered tomorrow. Here's to hoping.

I still never did get a reply from eReaderstore. Disappointing after a week or attempts regardless of how busy they are. This will likely be the only time I order from them.

Mine has been delivered - keep patient, Ereader Store is fully legit! The box is all in Chinese but shrinkwrapped, unlike the Max 2 I had received from Amazon. Will unwrap and report back.

Update 1: Unwrapped, turned on. Very preliminary impressions (made it past initial config screen, connected to Wifi, am downloading system update): Feels just the right size in hand; if Max 2 was too big, as it was for me, this will set you straight. The screen's resolution is very good, and sharp. Build seems to me better than Max 2, much narrower bezels. Despite same processor, feels a bit more responsive too, perhaps better firmware as opposed to the one I had when testing the Max 2. There is a spot in back which gets a bit warm _not hot_ , I guess it's due to the quad core processor. So far so good! Will update this post as I go along.

A (optionally, but preferably, thorough) video review would be worth gold. :

Apologies, don't have resources or time to do that.

Some further points:
- As opposed to Max 2, Note does NOT have a cover in the box. It is listed as optional accessory in the printed manual that comes with it. The chassis is plastic, but nice to hold and very light. It is matte behind, does not show that much fingerprints.
- The unit is very fast, most third party apps work fine with it - no problem installing anything from Play Store. Librera E-ink edition, GMail, Telegram, Onedrive, a couple of apps with custom DRM I use, are all installed without a hitch. Microsoft Word does not work well, not responsive to the right touch input. Hopefully Onyx can modify it.
- I cannot see anything under Settings to set the shortcut for a manual refresh, and the single hardware button (The 'Home' one) does not seem to react to refresh when long pressed. Hopefully this is something Onyx can address in the firmware updates, a way to toggle manual refresh fast.
- PDF performance and pinch to zoom are very good.
-From what I recall of the Max 2, the Note screen is sharper and more contrasty. To be expected given the difference in dpi, but still quite impressive. The screen is the strong suit, still e-ink with all its limitations, but a good deal better than my current device, the i86.

So, in short, it's what everyone expected, a Max 2 in small size, but same or better performance, and sharper screen, and much lighter and transportable. In fact, finances permitting, I am thinking of getting a Max 2 when its a bit cheaper, the two complement each other almost perfectly. Need to travel, are short in space - Note, and when you are more static, the Max 2.

Especially if web browsing (in fast mode!) were included.

I'm not sure, but probably the fact to have less dots physically, smaller bitmaps logically helps it being swifter.

That's disappointing. Ereader Store's page says:

Scope of delivery:
Onyx Boox Note
Wacom E/M Stylus
USB cable
Protective cover

It also says this at the bottom of the webpage: Attention to pre-orderers from January and February! The cover is still in production and will be delivered separately in the last week of March!
