Some weeks ago I was browsing the forum and skim read a lot of posts, one of which from Booxtor, where I think he mentioned something about a new version come summer. But I cannot find his post, so it might be that I got it mixed. Is it so funny that they'd release a version with some changes in 2018? What I was hoping for was a lighter device and hardware that could handle Android N, which is from 2016. Last edited by norweger; 03-15-2018 at 06:47 AM. |

No, I am just attentive to the news.

And, I perceive it as a pretty stable hardware configuration... I would join the voices that call it a time to consolidate the software. EDIT: THANK YOU! Now I know what we are missing... The "Linux Desktop" version! But that can be fixed with a firmware. Quote:
OS: I would bet that Marshmallow will be there for a bit... They just adopted it. Last edited by mdp; 03-15-2018 at 07:24 AM. |

Hadn't heard about any other new hardware features for either model except a possible HDMI port for the Note. Will it happen? Your guess is as good as mine. |

So they are using white to screen the particles kept below, hidden... The 5bits per ink idea remains. (Unfortunately, also my skepticism of obtaining black through mixing three saturated inks.) |

yup, I agree. this is no longer only an ereader. its basically android tablet with eink screen. not acceptable to have 32GB memory without any possibility of expansion when you are paying 500+€ for that device.

I will try connecting a USB-C mini-SD card reader to the Boox Note as soon as I receive it. Perhaps that will work for expanding storage.

For me, the main use of a large-screen device is to read PDFs, and even 64GB is really not very much storage if you have a large collection of PDFs. I have an iPad with 512GB storage, and it currently has over 300GB of PDFs on it.

Also, some of the files I use are huge. Harry beat me in size (but we converge on the order of magnitude). Last edited by mdp; 03-16-2018 at 05:55 AM. |
