But this book has added to my TBR list. Something else came along that I am reading now and then there will be the book club selection after that. And I will get to it, just not now.

I've finally sorted through my Amazon ebook contents, getting rid of all the freebies that I'll never read. Down from 2000 books to around 700!

3 weeks without buying an e-book!!!!!! (Though I took 1 freebie) I'm doing good! Yay me. I want to reduce the number books on my e-reader, not add more.

Wow! And having gone through that process, freebies will never be that appealing again.

Never say never. I gave up freebees for a year. I'd like to say I've become more discerning and in some ways I have. The number I get is much smaller, and unless it is a Whispersync title, I download and delete out of my cloud right away. I have a Calibre library that is just freebees. Twice a month, I spend a morning doing phone calls and while on hold, I cull both from freebees and TBR.

Indeed. I don't think I'll ever return to getting freebies just because they're free and in a genre I enjoy.

I also found about 20 freebies in my TBR that I didn't want there. So that was worthwhile.

My numbers now look artificially good for 2018.

I decided to go shopping for audiobooks on Librivox as I wasn't really feeling anything on my list.

I ended up getting a few titles read by Tadhg Hynes (who is a fantastic Irish narrator) and a few read by Ruth Golding (a lovely English narrator).

So I have upped my TBR by a few titles, but not spent a penny. Think I'll start Tadgh Hynes reading of The Vicar of Wakefield this rainy afternoon.

Makes sense maybe. I am heading towards 2,000 this year I think.
Do you save the ones you will never read somewhere?
I find if I don't keep all of my books now in calibre, (to check what I have) I end up buying free ones I've got already!

The freebies I deleted I deleted all the way. The only record of them now is in email receipts and Amazon order history.

He is so brave. I'm still working on at least deleting them from my cloud. I did unsubscribe from the various newsletters with free and low cost books. Now that my Ed Noon collection is done, I just couldn't justify it any longer with so many purchased books and audio books in TBR.

I had a relapse the last week. Bought a few Star Trek e-books that were on sale for 99 cents. The regular prices are ridiculous and I gave away my paperbacks, so it's good to have them on ebook. Also bought The Magicians on sale. Well that's enough until next months Star Trek sale. I think I made good purchases!
