Strange formatting

Hey, so I downloaded a EPUB file type then converted to mobi (using calibre) for my kindle and as you can see by the pictures the prologue is fine but every other page is like the 2nd and 3rd pictures. anyone got any ideas?

First did you verify that the epub book was good before you converted it. The second after you converted it did you verify the book in calibre before loading it into your kindle?
At this point I would believe this is a conversion issue with the ebook or a setup issue with calibre. And not a kindle issue

The originals integrity is suspect. Page order issues are usually from a lost or previously mangled OPF or a PDF conversion.

Don't ever convert to Mobi. Convert to KF8 (AZW3) as that is a more modern format that most closely matches ePub. Mobi is obsolete and you can get display differences when things are used in the ePub that are not supported with Mobi.

Try again doing a conversion to KF8.

ahhh the original looks fine and i just looked through the kindle viewer on my pc and the mobi format is the issue here..

It's still doing the same thing with the AZW3 format unfortunately

Do you see the same issues that you're seeing on your Kindle when you view the converted Mobi file in the Calibre viewer?

Does converting to AZW3 rather than Mobi make any difference?

yeah same issue when I view the .mobi and the AZW3 versions in the calibre viewer

The problem almost without question lies with the original ePub file. Open it in the Calibre editor and use the "Check Book" tool. This will check the file for errors.

The original EPUB looks fine through the calibre viewer, it only goes incorrect after converting, how do I find the check book tool?
