@mdp: To transfer files I'm using Wi-Fi. On the Max the app is WiFi File Transfer and on the PC is FileZilla client (which I already used on the M92).
Bluetooth tethering works well but there are two bugs: 1) In the integrated browser the pop-up "do you want to activate the wi-fi?" appears at each page change, and I ask Booxtor if you can eliminate this problem (which I had already reported). With other browsers the pop-up does not appear but it seems to me that in the end the integrated one is the best (I tried Firefox, Dolphin and Opera mini) 2) In the Play Store I can surf normally but with Bluetooth tethering you can not download the app. @Jayjee: It seems to me that the gesture of the right-left touch and vice-versa to turn the page is more reliable than that of the touch on the side of the display (I speak of the needs of live musicians). Today I tried to use it instead of touch and it seems to me that we can approach 100% security. I will try better in the next days. |

Here I'm using ReLaunchX or Taskbar to get at the vanilla Settings app. Are either of those an option in this case?

One thing that I'd find useful: the ability to toggle on/off the touchscreen. Then you can use the pen for any app without accidental touches of your fingers or hands.
It would need to have some hardware button assigned to it in case you lost the pen while in non-touch mode. Something like hold both page-up & page-down at the same time for several seconds. |

That particular button combination triggers a screenshot on the Max. Not sure about the Max 2. But some other button combination could be made to work. |

I observed wifi connection to be triggered automatically.
I even observed wifi connection being on after wakeup from sleep. Right now I have only few 3rd party apps installed, namely hacker's keyboard, termux, bVNC and F-Droid. I instructed F-Droid not to automatically check for updates, so I guess I can rule out these apps are responsible. How can I track down what triggers automatic connection? Is it possible that a process triggers connection while device is sleeping? Randomly turning wifi on after wakeup would be a bug. EDIT: After having a closer look at the full settings, there might be some options worth disabling: - Location - Security --> Apps with usage access - Google --> Security --> Google play protect I could imagine one of those is responsible for switching wifi on after wakeup. What's funny is that airplane mode doesn't prevent me from activating wifi. ENDEDIT Also battery live is somewhat unpredictable. Sometimes it decreases rapidly without any relevant consumers switched on. After 4 hours of sleep (when wifi was on after wakeup), it had decreased 15%. In general I always wondered if it's a difference charging the device if powered off or not. Android devices will automatically start when plugged in, does it harm powering them off after that (which I always did, but there is for example this charger file in root tree). --- Onyx reader or whatever the default reader is called does not show up in the multitask window. Or only for short under special conditions. In general I wonder what the best way is for switching between apps with just one action. Last edited by alcedo; 01-25-2018 at 03:13 PM. |

I used the device extensively today for notetaking during entrance exams at the conservatory, and I like it more and more
BUT in the (stock) note app, on the right down side of the screen, there are the buttons for adding/deleting a new page and page up and down. I cannot count how often my elbow/underarm triggered one of those buttons. That was really annoying. (and apart from the app hanging several times the only negative experience today). @Booxtor, that must be somtehing that can easily be fixed? e.g.move the buttons on the top row, beside the refresh/undo/save/redo buttons, where there is space? The selection for the tools (eraser, pen width etc.) did not disturb me at all, though they might for a lefthanded person. The ability to toggle capacitive input would help as well, of course... Still haven't found out what triggers the hanging of the note app - after ca. ten seconds, everything works again. Best, Jan Last edited by Jayjee; 01-25-2018 at 03:25 PM. |

(I don't need a high security lock, just to avoid somebody "accidentally" peeking in my notes and mail...) I couldn't figure out how to use ReLaunchX to get the full settings of android? Best, Jan |

Don't know much about the lock-related things, but regarding the settings...
In ReLaunchX's "Launcher Mode": https://github.com/Leszek111/ReLaunc...-launcher-mode there should be a row of buttons at the bottom of the screen -- here, the middle one leads to a listing of apps on the device. From that listing, I'm able to get at Settings. |

At least airplane mode should prevent that, right? But it doesn't. EDIT: Well, rebooting after changing settings might be a good idea. After reboot it complained device could not be located anymore ("Location" turned off) and so far there is not wifi-auto-on. Last edited by alcedo; 01-26-2018 at 05:32 AM. |
