Hi knc1,

Since saw some discussion about U-Boot, thought to post these here:

from 'update_KT3_5.8.0_initial.bin' U-Boot Size - 437KB (447647 bytes) dated 05/06/2016 (ddmmyyyy)

sbox-arm-linux-gnueabi-gcc (Linaro GCC 4.8-2014.04) 4.8.3 20140401 (prerelease)
GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.24
print monitor, compiler and linker

(only this U-Boot has this information)

Version displayed on kindle: U-Boot 2014.04 (Jun 04 2016 - 11:52:07)

from 'update_kindle_8th_5.8.5.0.1.bin' - U-Boot Size - 408KB (418272 bytes) dated 22/10/2016

Version displayed on kindle: U-Boot 2014.04 (Oct 21 2016 - 14:32:17)

from 'update_kindle_8th_5.9.2.0.1.bin' - U-Boot Size - 408KB (418752 bytes) dated 30/11/2017

Version displayed on kindle:U-Boot 2014.04 (Nov 29 2017 - 11:22:41)

And these files have one more reference to U-Boot version (with aprox 4-6 sec delay), may be 'bist' version, not sure.

'update_kindle_8th_5.8.1.1.bin' does Not have a U-Boot packed

(ps: don't know how useful are these details)

Don't hold your breath, nobody has made any use of this information in the past 18 months.
