Cool! Just like the old watermills used to work, with a touch of technology. That's the way I'd like to work.

Currently: working on a little side project involving a "steampunk" Dorothy in Oz-- the kind of gal who transplants brains from jars to hapless scarecrows and welds up hearts from tin cans and spare cogs for mournful mechanized woodsmen.

Well, yeah. The 3d company was offering a free version of their newest character model to customers who submitted interesting ideas for promo images (with a commitment to produce said promo images). I'd been looking at the character model and thinking of Girl Genius type characters and stories, and then when they said they were looking for ideas, Dorothy just popped into my head.

(Pshrynk, I don't have anything for the laddy at the door except a cup of Darjeeling. Don't even ask.)

But the character model was originally designed for "pin-up" style images, I think, so yeah, she's a bit older than Dorothy Gale in the original books (whose age is never stated directly, but she's probably no older than eleven).

I was just realizing that the original shoes were silver, not ruby, as well. I went with ruby dress boots. I wonder if I should go with silver? I think the glittery red is more noticeable and more iconic.
