Soon after, I managed to drop my replacement Aura at the ballet. It fell down into the row in front of me, so it fell a good six feet or more onto concrete and it survived without a scratch. Now a phone, don't get me started. |

The only one I broke was deliberate. I set it on the trunk of my car and drove off with it still there. I saw it fly off and stopped on a side road and walked back to get it. It was laying on the side of the road face up undamaged. As I waited for a line of cars to pass one of them deliberately swerved and ran over it. Lucky for me I had it insured.

Something fell on my T1 while I was reading it, causing a 1/8 inch divot in the screen, but it still worked, just as it kept working after all the many times I dropped it over a 5-year period. It's not in use currently but it does still work.

B&N caseing or bezel or what ever you call it is that rubberized plastic and is thicker and feels good in the hands. Kindle is all metal ad glass. I feel I can drop the Nook with less heartache. Also I have a good solid case for the Nook and not for the kindle. The kindle case seems kinda flimsy. I want a case that covers every inch and does not cost $50 My first ereader was the 2010 Nook and I scratched the screen real bad just a few months after purchase. I was so mad! I guess the case gives some protection in a fall. It's best if stops something from hitting the screen, I would think. But the only real protection is just being careful.

Having a nook STR and knowing how it feels to hold with no case, I have to say that it's not nice. That means the nook Glowlight 3 is also not good given how similar it is. Get a good case and you won't notice how the nG3 is not nice to hold.

My Nook STwG was more pleasant to hold without a case than my Aura is. So is the Glowlight 3 for that matter. |

I never had an eink face break or shatter. Only damage I had was from a nasty scratch on my 2010 Nook and I suspect that took some pressure. I am not taking the chance on the Kindle tho. I am kinda looking for a sleve |

I really like the feel of my Glowlight 3 with or without the case. I have the B&N case for it now and I'm surprised at how nice it is. It won't put the device to sleep when I close it but other than that it's really nice. It's very light and there's an elastic band that can hold the cover shut, although it tends to stay shut very well without using that.
I think it might have some magical properties as well since the big Glowlight 3 seems smaller when it's in the case. ![]() Today I carried it in my front pants pocket most of the day. I was surprised that it fit but it did, easily. The more I use this thing the more I like it. It's easily the most comfortable ereader to old in my hand of all those I have. I'm even starting to use the page turn buttons, something I never do on my Voyage. Barry |

The screen on my Elonex broke after I levered myself off the sofa with my hand on the case... Being half asleep at the time, I thought it was the paperback I had my weight on. Unfortunately, the screen can't be replaced - I've tried.
The other hardware still works on it. |
