Though we usually only get advisories for extreme temperatures/wind chills/heat index.
Watches and warnings are for storms.

Of course on the temperature that varies from place to place.
Up north gets heat advisories for over 95°F. Here it is 110F.
We might or might not get an advisory for 32°with a windchill in the single digits. My mom and assorted others got advisories and warnings for barely freezing temperatures. Of course, those areas get cold roughly every 30 years.

Still home with flu bug .... 17 F when I got up at 8:00 am ....

Going to dash out for necessary groceries just in case weather forecasters are wrong (again!) about the track of the storm ...

After they were DEAD wrong on ALL predictions so far about this winter's weather ... i.e., the SE was to have a drier and WARMER winter since the jet stream was NOT going to dip south and bring polar air down from Canada ....

Well, I walked to Whole Foods and let me tell you - you know something's coming when the organic bread is all gone. Luckily I bake my own. But I got beer - can always use the redneck refrigerator of putting it outside right now.
