Oasis no ads?

I know the ad-version displays an ad, every time the device goes into sleep mode, on it's internal screen; which is about after 10 minutes of inactivity; and needs to be swiped away to get back in the book.

What is the experience when I would pay the $20 for the removal of the ads?
Do I get a different screen saver?
Do I still need to swipe to unlock the device?
Or does the screen remain displaying the page you're currently reading?

No swiping needed and you get the same boring pictures the Kindles had for a while since Amazon abandoned the scary author pictures.

You need to jail break to change "screensaver" pictures, but neither the JB nor the hack are ready for public.

And can you open it with any of the buttons?

Or, you can buy one of the covers with a magnet that open and close the Kindle automatically. I think they're great.

I think I lasted about a day on my Oasis before I turned off the offers. So much more pleasant for me to go right back to the book when I open the cover.

Yet, I just bought a amazon ads phone, go figure. But then I don't read on my phone and I can open it just as easy with my finger print and ignore the ads.

Couldn't deal with the swiping for long on my Oasis. Or any of my kindles really.

And I like the screensavers. I actually really liked the dead authors too when we had them, I liked them better than the new ones, but apparently, I was in the minority there. I don't really see them much anyway as it only takes a bit to wake up.

Talking about wake up,
The oasis with ads enabled, wakes up within a second or two, which is pretty long when you compare it to the paperwhite, which is more like insta-on.
Does the ad removal reduce the wake up time?

No it doesn't. The Oasis has a better sleep mode than the PW has - after a while it shuts down more completely. Out of the deep sleep it takes about 4 seconds to wake up. A "waking up" on bottom of screen is shown while it does that.

tried sync and reboot, but,
Amazon website says 'unsubscription pending'.
I guess I'll have to wait before it's authorized by Amazon.

I suspect that it is pending payment. With one click enabled it may not ask for payment.

You get the same screen savers as on iother kindles I believe swipe to wake as usual. Kicker is if you ever decide to have adds back on they do not refund you the $20
