And now when I watch a Prime TV show it begins with a commercial. So far it's just a commercial for another Prime TV show but I have a feeling that's not going to last. And my Fire tablet with ads removed and practically nothing but paid apps is always showing me ads when I load an app. I tried resetting it, thinking maybe I had some malware but it still does it. Then I got the new Fire for $30 on Prime day and it does it. i called Amazon and they insist I'm not seeing ads. They claim to know nothing about it. I doubt I'm the only one who called them so even the tech support people must know. Lately every time I go into the store on my Kindle I first have to click through the offer to join Kindle Unlimited and that makes me so damn mad that if I was in Seattle I'd go kick their building. I haven't called them yet but I will soon. It's getting to be almost every time. I'm all for Amazon being successful and they're sure an important part of my life, living in a very small town and not driving. I buy practically everything from them but groceries. But they're starting to feel like they're getting in my way now and I resent it. Barry |

I LOVE Netflix, but have been very unhappy with the way they'd begin treating their DVD business like a red-headed stepchild. There are good business reasons for doing so, but as a customer, it sucks. They've gotten better, releasing a very nice DVD app. But the two apps don't talk to each other. The DVD one doesn't tell you a movie is available streaming. The streaming one doesn't tell you it's available on DVD. And really, why do I need two apps, Netflix? |

As to the SD card, do you really think Amazon reads every review on every product? The answer is no. The only way Amazon knows of a problem is if the customer takes the time to report it. Not just leave a review. Please blame the wrong entity because it is easier to blame the big guy rather than the person that is playing a game. Amazon is a distributor, they don't program the apps. Amazon is just the distributor, they can't fix the problem if people don't use the report button. That is why when I got screwed by a seller: he put three peelers up with the tag assorted colors, he shipped one. Oh yes, I reviewed and provided feedback. I do not blame Amazon for his shifty behavior. |

If you resent a company, then why are you helping to keep them in business?

Barry already said that he likes Amazon, but has some gripes. You can like something without approving of every aspect. I have family members that prove it. ![]() |

I don't have many paid apps on my Fire, but I checked the two that I have, and neither of them showed me an ad. When I go to the store on my Oasis and on my Voyage I don't see an offer to join Kindle Unlimited that I have to click through, either. I'm sorry that you're seeing these things, but I can't reproduce it. Is anyone else seeing this? Shari |

My opinion on that is "Put up or shut up." As long as the griper is spending money with the company they don't like then to me they are just babbling because they are still helping the company stay in business. This makes me not want to trust them in anything, because they say one thing but do the opposite. That is any company not just Amazon. Amazon is not the only place to shop. Walmart is not the only to place to shop. Do not tell me you are so poor you have to shop at Walmart. Yes, I have heard the I would shop somewhere else if I could afford it. I can find the same or better prices on food at other grocery stores. I can find my paper goods cheaper at several places. So don't pass on my leg and tell me it is raining. On your family analogy, sorry you can choose where to shop but you are stuck with family. (Oh and as to another comment you made: I wasn't planned.) |

There's this thing that exists known as nuance. If I go to Whataburger because I love their sweet and spicy burger, but I think their chicken sandwich is awful, should I shun them and never go there again? No, of course not. Because it is possible to like some or even most things about a company without loving everything about them. I even tried giving a helpful analogy with Netflix, nestled right in there between Barry's comment and yours (post #50). Barry's comment, if quoted in full started with: I do agree with that. I'm bothered lately by the creeping dishonesty I'm finding at Amazon. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Amazon and a very good customer. It also included statements such as: I'm all for Amazon being successful and they're sure an important part of my life... You liking something about a company isn't the same as saying you must endorse every action they take in every instance. Last edited by ZodWallop; 12-28-2017 at 01:06 PM. |

Now should you avoid Whataburger, yes. Texas Burger (oh wait you aren't in Bobby Cox country) and Fuddruckers both have much better burgers. Oh wait: we now have an even bigger problem. We agree on the chicken sandwich. ![]() |
