I do that for Fires. Never thought of it for readers. They are more content based. So the Voyage is primarily current stuff like book clubs and library, one K3 devoted to cozies, one unit devoted to series, one unit now for magazines (like Asimov), the Nook ST is just for B&N cloud now, the Glo is a take-a-long as is the K8. I can still remember when I only had a single ereader (K3).

I just have one current reader that I use all the time and one that's damaged but still useable as a better-than-nothing backup.

Ipad, oasis 2, oasis 1, asus zenpad 8", fire tablets 7" and 8", two paperwhites, Glowlight Plus and the Glowlight 3. I sold my oasis 1 and my paperwhites. I had a Voyage and sold that too. i wish I kept them tho. I am tryinf to resist getting a kobo. its hard but i am trying lol. I ate mail order and prefer store purchases which helps resist the urge. I do want a white kindle just for the sake i want a new color lol

I have a Kindle KPW1 which I used from September 2012 to September 2016 as my only e-reader.
Since September 2016 I've been using a Kobo Aura ONE (with sometimes dropping back to the Kindle for half a year, waiting for the firmware to actually become stable and usable...)

The KPW1 is a backup reader now.

I also have a 5 year old Samsung Galaxy Tab, but I've never used it for reading e-books. I only use it for PDF's (manuals, mostly), some internet, and Youtube, but its getting a bit long in the tooth. (It would have been longer, had I not updated it to a custom Android 5.1.1 ROM. It can't really handle anything newer, even though there are Android 6, 7 and 8 builds for it that _sometimes_ work...)

I have a few.....the important thing to note is that I won't be buying any more for a long time to come. My last and most favorite I bought April 2017 is the Kobo H2O (1st gen, but bought new). I also regularly use my Kobo Glo HD and Kindle Voyage. In the summer I take my Kobo Mini everywhere. I also have the original Kindle Touch which I plan to use with TTS.

As long as I have all these, I won't be getting anything else, though I still hunger for a waterproof 6" Kobo. And if I see Woot selling a Paperwhite for $20 I might grab one.

I have a Kobo Glo HD, Kindle Paperwhite v1, Kindle Fire HD 7, Kindle Fire HD 6, Kindle Keyboard, Fire Phone, and Nexus 7. I mainly read on the Glo HD, Fire Phone and KF6. I'd love to upgrade to a Paperwhite latest generation someday. I also want a new Kindle Fire for gaming. You can't put Google Play on my KF7 it's too old.

Same here unless B&N come up with a 7 or 8" ereader I am hppy with my GL3 and 7"oasis other than battery life. I think I will be happy till they come up with a color eink. I have no interest in a new fire unless it significantly changes their look/style
