During some discussions recently about the chat window there was a comment that no one uses it. I think the problem is we are on it at different times. So, why not PLAN some chat times. This has happened in other communities I have been in. We could do them as formal (topic with chat leader) or as informal as you all want. I was thinking of having some times maybe a few a week or more. Trying to hit some times that work good across time Zones... Like Friday night at 10PM Eastern would be 3AM in London... so maybe not so good for those folks... but that would be 7PM Pacific... so that might work. Also people could come and go if they knew a group would be there. Then maybe Saturday we could do a few times... something that might work for a few time zones... Once we get something set we can post a schedule somewhere. Thoughts? BOb |

Sounds like a great idea! I help run a forum with members who are mostly in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. Finding times when the majority of people can participate is difficult, but having chats on a rotating schedule of times and days of the week seems to work best.

Well, I usually check that chat if I'm online (and actually sitting behind my pc...)

nice idea, but I'm not convinced that little chat area suits a 'group' - you can never tell whether anyone is typing (as you can on messenger for instance)...

Sounds fine to me too. Of course, none of the European members would be online at so unearthly an hour as 3am (right Zelda & Patricia? ) |

Better yet, you could incorporate it into the next Paris meetup, to increase your geek points...
