Doing a search for Chromecast on Amazon US and UK, I get no hits for the Chromecast devices. It also says this has been going on for 2 years, and I recall searching for Chromecast devices a month ago and getting hits?

I just tried a search on Amazon US. The first item in the search results was an Amazon Fire stick, but when I scrolled down they did actually have Chromecasts listed.

Apparently Amazon and Google have buried the hatchet. I don't know how that effects YouTube on Fires, but Chromecasts (and Apple TVs) are definitely coming back to Amazon.

Looks like they are working things out. Don't be surprised if the Chromecasts don't appear until after Christmas.

I just did a search, and still nothing; some alternatives (knockoffs, cable, ...), but no Google Chromecasts.

And I just tried youtube on my my FireTV, and it says: "Starting 1/1/18, the YouTube app will not be available on this device. ..."

Silk Browser is available for Fire TV now. So if nothing else, one will be able to use that for YouTube.

Amazon seems to be pushing updates to Amazon Prime Video on App Store daily, whose sole purpose seems to be to make sure people know there is an tvOS app available. I think it is something like five days in a row now.
