So maybe it IS worth sharing this bit, that I got from a Georgia friend. This was a facebook post, from the sherrif's office:

There could possibly, maybe, barely be less than an inch of snow Saturday in the OC
You know the drill. We have rehearsals for this every year. You are ready for the big event.
Tomorrow, buy out the grocery stores. Buy things you don’t need or even want. Loot the bread, milk and eggs first. When everything but sardines in mustard sauce is gone then you know you are done.
Get out your 4 wheel drive trucks, jeeps and SUVs and put them in 4wd immediately. You don’t want to be the only guy with a jeep who isn’t in a ditch by 9 am.
Check on momma and them. That goes without saying.
If there isn’t enough snow at your house to make a snowball, steal your neighbors snow.
The panic of 2017 begins at noon tomorrow.

That's why we call weather like this a "French Toast Emergency!" Really, why else would everyone need so much bread, milk and eggs?

Our "snow event" should start at any time. The weather forecaster has backed off on the threat of ice, but we're supposed to get a couple of inches of very wet, heavy snow -- the kind of stuff that takes down power lines.

We'll see.

But, just in case, I'm ready with the French toast!

The temperature hovered at or just below the freezing mark all day, and it snowed all day. We have between four and five inches of very wet, very heavy snow. It piled up on the grass from the beginning and eventually stuck to the paved surfaces.

But, the weather forecast for tomorrow is for sunny, or partly sunny, skies (depending on which forecast you listen to) with temperatures in the low 40s. Fortunately, I prepared well, so I don't have to get the driveway completely shoveled. The refrigerator is full and I don't have to go anywhere until Monday. I'll get a fair amount of snow shoveled, but the sun should do at least half the job!

Although, right now everything is covered with ice.

It just started snowing again. For today 10cm of snow is predicted, though in the city center it's usually less.

Today's supposed to be the warmest day of the week. The high will be 31 Fahrenheit.

Yesterday we ended up getting about two inches of snow. Which is a lot for the city center. For today even more snow is predicted. First it was to start snowing in the early afternoon. But looking at the radar it looks like it'll start snowing within the hour. For today they predict 4 to 5 inches of snow. Today they warn that you shouldn't go out if you don't really have to and if you can work at home to do so.

There is ice on the ground. Saw a fellow walking past my house in shorts and what looked like bedroom slippers. No coat, just a shirt. As he crossed the court, he started running. I don't know if he was jogging or cold. He was carrying something that looked like a paper in the manner in which a waiter carries a tray. Strange.
