I don't have a link for older Previewer versions. Perhaps the Internet Archive might have it. In any case I doubt that it will solve this problem.

Even though I cannot duplicate the error, I am going to release a new version of the plugin with a potential fix. Let me know whether it helps or not.

Version 1.13.0 - 22 Nov 2017

Allow the optional creation of approximate page numbers in cases where real page numbers are not present in the source file of the book.

Added a Metadata Writer Plugin to allow the metadata and cover of existing KFX books to be updated.

Allow an EPUB file that has been cleaned of some potential problems to be saved using the CLI.

Fix occasional non-working links in the table of contents of books converted from AZW3 format.

Possible fix for reported conversion error: "Kindle Previewer error: Error(YJEpubAdapter):E00601: Internal error occured. java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: ...\\shared.dll: Can't find dependent libraries"

Great! I updated the plugin and I confirm that Version 1.13.0 solve the problem!

The Kindle Previewer only supports specific languages for Enhanced Typesetting (KFX format). From the Kindle Previewer page on Amazon:

the plugin doesn't work on Ubuntu 16.04, it seems the issue was OS related:

The plugin does not support Linux. It relies on Kindle Previewer 3 being installed and working and that program is only available for Windows and Mac.

If someone can figure out how to make that program work under Linux and sends me the details I may be able to add Linux support to this plugin.

Seems like ExtractCoverThumbs doesn't work anymore with firmware 5.9.2. Realize jhowell is not the author of that program but this thread was where I learned about it.

Kindle Previewer version 3.17 is now available.

There is a minor incompatibility with this plugin which causes the "Kindle Previewer Conversion Guidance" section in the conversion job log to contain incorrect information.

The new version also has the ability to convert books containing MathML, but the output produced for MathML is not compatible with this plugin.

These problems will be fixed in the next plugin release.

What kind of device is being targeted during the conversion using this plugin? In other threads on KFX you have mentioned that KFX files are complied based on the target device. Since it sounds like many different KFX files could be produced depending on the target device, I was curious what one is produced by the plugin.

It does not target a specific device. KFX text and formatting are common to all device types.

KFX supports HD (1920 pixels/side max), SD (128KB per image max), and grayscale (JPEG-XR) images for different classes of device in order to save storage. The books produced by the plugin have HD resolution images. They should work on all devices.

Does this mean if the images are low resolution they get scaled up?

No. Only scaled down so that neither height nor width is greater than 1920 pixels.
