I'm really turned off by this "promotion." The few freebies are either books that have been free before or are of no interest or both and I'm most certainly not going to shill for Audible on my Facebook page. Seems as if Audible expects its listeners to do the promoting.

Audible is providing significantly less value these days than it used to.

I would have been pleased with yesterday's book (The Good Girl) except I already had it--I think it'd been a daily deal. Shilling for the chance of winning a single credit is annoying (though I've been doing it, shame on me). I was quite annoyed that I couldn't buy extra credits at a discount, since I'm on the yearly plan.

What's annoyed me more than this rather disappointing "celebration" is the price increase for the Whispersync books.

I used to buy a lot of Whispersync books and now I buy none. If only they'd raised the price to just $4.95, I'd probably buy as many as I ever did. Maybe I'll adjust to the price increase eventually, but I'm not there yet.
