At the current moment, the hardware appears to support OTG, but it does not appear to be enabled. If you ahve an OTG adaptor and a keyboard, I think you can try plugging it in to your old kindle, and seeing if the lights come on.

I have a usb drive with a LED on the end, that lights up when I plug it into my PW3, but not my KOA2.

There have been some major, internal changes to the operating system which is requiring changes in some of the most basic of basic packages.

That is, we can jail break the firmware version you have, but getting things to run on that model with all the system changes ...

I've got the folder in place and registered it.

A usb keyboard will light plugged into the old Voyage, but only if KindleLazy is on, so there's no way to do a comparable test on the KOA2 without a JB.

What is your thinking about bluetooth? Does it look likely? I can only see that it will pair with a device with audio such as speakers or earbuds, not with a simple volume control, which is all that would be needed.

At minimum, they will need to be compiled against amazon source code for the new oasis, so until someone volunteers to do that, it won't work.

I really, really appreciate all the work that goes into defeating Amazon's restrictions, which I don't understand at all. They could be selling remotes to use with the kindles, for instance. But no....

hid and usbhid are linked into the kernel of the koa2, you can check from the file in thie update package:

No, just the opposite.
That means the required drivers are already present.

What I don't see in there though, are the 'host' and 'otg' drivers.

From the paperwhite they are:

I can't imagine NXP dropping OTG, but Lab126 might have it disabled.

Since it doesn't serve any Amazon-approved purpose now, that's probably the case. Bluetooth would work for a remote just as well.

Sorry for the interruption in the more important work of the JB. Just trying to decide whether to keep the KOA2 before it's too late to send it back.

If you have let it update to 5.9.2 it is already too late for this decision.

The device must be jailbroken to use this add-in and we can not jail break 5.9.2, only the firmware version the KOA2 is shipping with.

No, no update. I know the rules. Wifi is off but I've registered it and first added the update.bin.tmp.partial folder.

That is just great. Sorry if I have asked before, I loose track of things easily.

We have a few other things to fix before anyone will have time to look at miscellaneous add-ins.
