My second one arrives today, the 32GB WiFi model.

It has a worse screen than the 3G model not due to lighting issues but screen defects. Has dirt under the glass and a small hot spot. This one is definitively going back.

No problem! I think it's worth trying... most screen photos I'm seeing show uniform color/lighting.

At Best Buy it's a 14 day return policy on kindles, I believe. Just ask before you buy it.

I'm not sure. I also think the Christmas season policy starts later in November, but even still I have a feeling it will likely remain 14 days for kindles. Don't take my word for it though, as I'm just guessing. The only way to know for sure is to ask before buying.

It starts Oct. 29 and goes through Dec. 30, with the return window closing Jan. 14. But yeah, you'll probably have to ask if a Kindle counts as an activate-able device.

I ordered my 32 gb from Best Buy and the screen is perfect with no lighting problems. But I have never had a kindle with any problems! ☺

If you go to a Best Buy B&M store, you will see it on display.
You can also buy it on-line from Best Buy.

If you return it, you must haul it down the Best Buy B&M store yourself.
And they will gladly give you a "store credit" card (your only choice).

I.E: They are not going to let loose of your money, you can't change your mind on that. You can only change your mind on which of their products you have exchanged your money for.

Depending on where you live, you can sometimes find businesses that will buy your "store credit card" - usually (in my area) discounted as $2 for $3.

Unless you live in my town, apparently. They've never changed the display to include a Voyage or Oasis, just basic model and Paperwhite. Still haven't this week, after Oasis 2 release, although they do carry it in the back room. The guy said "Amazon owns" the display, and couldn't tell me when it would include the new Oasis.
