Curiosties
If you're looking for recommendations for books that are off-the-beaten-path, a good place to start would be Science fiction & Fantasy Magazine's monthly "Curiosties" column.
The books are not always strictly genre titles, for example, Arthur Machen's "London Adventure". Their online website has an archive of the columns: http://www.sfsite.com/fsf/dcuriosities.htm Personally, I can highly recommend "The Jerusalem Quartet" by Edward Whittemore and "Lud-in-the-Mist" by Hope Mirlees |
