Kobo to release 32GB Kobo Aura One

Very shortsighted of Kobo to only release this model in the US and Japan. It's a world-wide market.

The 32GB Aura One is priced the same as the 32GB WiFi Oasis 2. The cost in the US for the Oasis is $279.99 with special offers. The Kobo has no special offers.

I'd consider getting one if I need to replace my Kobo Glo HD that I upgraded to 64 GB. I still think 32 GB is probably too small, especially for graphic novel fans, but I acknowledge that there's some portion of my ebook collection that I probably don't really need to have on my reader right now (or maybe ever).

The press release calls it "Kobo Aura ONE Limited Edition". It is probably a limited production run to test the waters and grab some attention from Kindle. Hopefully it will be successful enough to keep going and release elsewhere.

Let's hope so; I think there is a very real market for devices with more storage for people who want to read PDFs, comics, etc. I have many PDF files that are in the 200MB+ size bracket, and you don't get many of those on a device with 4GB storage space!

Yes. I cannot zoom in on normal epubs. It only works on the Kobo epub version on my Aura One.

Yes, a feature of the kepub reader on the device is that it allows zooming on pictures in the books.

I might be tempted to get it. I love my Kobo Glo to read novels, but I also read mangas and some PDFs and I find my Kobo Glo too small for that. And that one has a 32 GB and has a bigger screen. Would not be easy to get it though since I live in Canada.
