Got my new Oasis today, first impressions

Can someone please weigh their leather case? Interested to see the weight differences as it may sway which case I choose to keep.

Just curious, are page turns on the new Oasis any faster than on the Voyage?

Which one do you think has a better contrast ? Voyage or Oasis 2 ?

They are as close to instantaneous as makes no difference on both devices, to my mind.

OMG. I got the KOA2 yesterday and fell in love with the even softer lighting, the sharp text and the lightness of the reader. Although I am not a button guy, the buttons let me drift into the book and forget everything else without touching the screen each page. Lastly the speed of the page turn had me wondering more than once if I had forgotten to turn the page. Today I got the red leather cover. It is gorgeous. The device looks like a work of art. First e-reader that I have ever gotten that I have no big complaints about. Yeah there are always things to improve but I'm very happy with this reader.

I am very happy with the new Oasis. When I ordered it, I thought, okay, maybe 50-50 chance that I will keep my Voyage and return it. No chance of that now. I love the screen, so clear and the new size does indeed make a difference. It just feels easier to read. I also like the page turn physical buttons and find myself using them a lot. Graphics on pages like in Brandon Sanderson's novels are easier to see now, too. I even find myself wondering if I really need a cover or not.

Anyone without Special Offers -- I presume the screensavers in the updated software are the same still lives of pencil ends, etc.? I ordered, and then canceled, the KOA2. I love my Kobo Aura One and know I will not be happy without being able to use my book covers as screensavers. For the life of me, I don't know why Amazon doesn't offer that as an option (even a paid one!). I definitely would not be able to resist the KOA2 if they did....

Same screensavers. Only way you get book covers is by jailbreaking, and that isn't possible with the oasis, at least not yet.

Just got the Oasis.

Good things:

1.) The most evenly TINTED display on any illuminated Kindle. It's not even close.
2.) Nice, bigger screen.
3.) Very fast.

Bad things:

1.) Illumination still not completely even. Top right is slightly yellower than the bottom. It's clear the illumination starts at the bottom and drifts slightly dimmer toward the top right.

Overall, really like it so far, but it's still not quite there in even illumination, which bothers me.

Do you see any colors (pink, blue, green) on the screen, William? I know we've both had countless issues with this in the past which is why I'm asking.
