I've listened to both of these. I especially liked Lies She Told, which was a bit quirky, with chapters alternating between a writer and her fictional heroine.

Local Girl Missing was okay, but somewhat confusing, with unlikable and cliched characters, and buckets of angst.

I was just looking at this. Audible has done an extremely poor job of saying just what this package IS--it's a borrowing program, like Kindle Unlimited for romance books. After some searching, I finally found more about the terms here.

Plus it's really hard to navigate through the selections. The books are divided into categories, but there doesn't seem to be a way to organize them within those categories. And if you're doing an Audible search, there's no indication in the search results that a book is part of the package--you have to go to the specific book page to check, which is annoying.

I don't read romance generally, but I did skim through the thriller and gothic categories, and there were a handful of books that had some appeal--one or more titles by Jane Austen, Mary Roberts Rinehart, Phyllis A. Whitney.

Wish Audible would do a mystery/thriller package!

If this is the first of genre-based packages, I can't imagine mysteries will be far behind.

It makes me wonder, though; I can't help thinking that the changes in Whispersync prices and fewer promotions could have led to a drop in revenues and this is an attempt to address the issue. I know I'm projecting from my personal behavior and what I've read here, but I've spent a lot less at Audible since the changes took place.

Based on this news link that I posted earlier I don't suspect other genres will be targeted; it seems Audible thinks romance readers are more voracious than others.

Also, Kobo's $10/month offer might be having an effect.
