I think, they implemented this so you can't circumvent the advertising with a sleep cover.

Unfortunately Amazon Japan doesn't offer the option to remove the ads, even if you're willing to pay. I discovered this recently myself after ordering the OA2 w/ads. Unfortunately I seem to be at the end of my local "Amazon Logistics" delivery route, so I generally don't get items delivered until the evening, which is why I went for the "guaranteed by 1pm" option on the replacement.

My case is out for delivery today, so hopefully I'll have that by the time the Kindle arrives.

I bought my first Kindle Touch with special offers in the US. Living in Germany I had no need for US advertising, so I contacted the Amazone people via email and they immediately removed the special offers for free. Of course that was long ago ...

My Kindle is out for delivery so I should have by this evening. Unfortunately my Merlot leather cover shows I will receive by 8PM but has not shipped yet. So receipt is quite unlikely. I guess my pre-order got allocated to someone else.

Thank you! I do have US account as well, so if you manage to remove them, I would be grateful for the information.
As for prime discount, I don't really think it's one time since I bought 3 PWs with it (1 for me, 2 for friends) at different times. But I still don't want to return my new Oasis, it is that good

The current prime Oasis coupon is indeed one time only. It’s noted on the terms page, once used it cannot be used again even if the order is cancelled or returned. I did try ordering a second Oasis a couple of days ago but it wouldn’t let me use that coupon again. 🙇🏻

I was actually quite surprised they included new Oasis in that offer. So far it was only for Kindle basic and PW. At least as far as I remember it wasn't offered for Voyage and Oasis 1.

There is hope. I get the same result but when I check what is out for delivery it includes the total sum so the cover may be with the device.

That's very possible. I got my cover several days earlier with some other order I placed.
