No mysterious audio book on my Harlequin Bookshelf either.

The Kindle has an actual name in it. Someone named it Brandie's Kindle and it says the account it's registered to is Brandie Kirk. The send to Kindle email is that name at Kindle.com.

I hooked it up to my computer and was able to get the ebooks off of it saved to the computer and into Calibre. I can open them in Calibre and read them so I assume that means no DRM on them. I should be able to sideload them back onto the Kindle once I get it registered in my name. Now to see if I even have an Amazon account anymore. It's been a good 15 years since I've used it. I assume I need one of those to register a Kindle.

I de-registered the Kindle and then re-registered it to myself. All the Harlequin books stayed. A bunch of others downloaded too. I vaguely remember getting one or two free ebooks a number of years ago but certainly not the 30 that downloaded! Strange indeed.

Years ago Harlequin gave away an audiobook. I think this was it. It disappeared when they changed the site. It's good to see it back again.

It was during their countdown to Christmas if I remember right.

Brandie Kirk is a Marketing Coordinator and Administrative Assistant at Harlequin (edit: Oops, I see copyrite already posted this). My guess is that she ordered the Kindle on her personal Amazon account and they auto-registered it to her (they do that if you don't tell them the Kindle is a gift).

Most of my book club reads historical romance but I know most here reads Contemporary so hoping you can help.

I'm looking for secret bodyguard romances. Example rich parent hires the mysterious hero to look after rebellious heroine who goes off and does her own thing and either isn't aware of the bodyguard or ignores them.

Know of any like this?

Does it have to be an official bodyguarding profession and the H/h strangers to begin with?

Because if you're willing to go with former one-night stand encountered detective blackmailed by protective father, who winds up embarking with a relationship with the heroine unaware he's also secretly protecting her from a stalker, we recently received this freebie from Entangled: A Night of Southern Comfort, which you may wish to try, though the reviews look kind of mixed.

Not parents, but Mia Kay's Soft Target is about a hero who is secretly guarding the heroine at her brother's request.

Stephanie James' (aka Jayne Ann Krentz) Body Guard (SD#103) featured a heroine who cheerfully ignored the bodyguard her mother hired for her. It's not been released yet in digital though

(also she knows from the get go he's there, so not so secret).

Check your email, I just received another Amazon credit relating to the Apple anti-trust settlement. I think this is the final one. It's been great getting these random credits. They are like mini Xmas presents.
