It's a total of 3.4a output. So it gets divided if you have multiple devices plugged in. A lot of USB chargers with multiple ports are like that. They don't all go at the top rated output because of having to divide the output.

Yes you're right. I didn't see that. But in any case, aluminium is rather a soft metal and I would expect the exposed back section to scratch over time. Saying that I can't see any reports of it happening with the first Oasis.

Anodized aluminum is pretty hard.

There ain't no such thing as a bare aluminium. Not for long outside a lab, anyway.

Aluminium oxidizes very quickly when exposed to the [oxygen in the] air.

All I can say is that this looks really interesting!!!
Might be time to consider upgrading my PW2 ... will see how this turns out and how happy people receiving theirs are.
When the first PW was launched, I asked a friend to bring me one from the US (was not available in Europe) and had to send it back as it had issues with sharpness ... so this time I am waiting until everybody tells me they Amazon have ironed out all possible issues with new production and that people are happy with theirs :-)

New old Oasis owner here (bitter, not bitter),

My main concern is if you can upload preowned audiobooks through the audible app. I already have around 100 GB of books on a terrabyte drive, so the new Oasis wouldn't be worth it to me otherwise. Does anyone have any info on this?

If by preowned, you mean previously downloaded, I would say no. You would have to download the audiobooks again (after the new Oasis was registered with Audible) in order to update the DRM.

I very much doubt Amazon would allow the Oasis to read owners preowned Audiobooks. I have legacy Audible accounts that start with a Username (2) plus a US account so I am expecting the Oasis to only pick up the Audible UK account linked to my Amazon account, everything else will need to be listened to on an apple or android device. Even the Fires only pick up the one Audible account that is linked to my Amazon account, my other three Audible accounts don't exist as far as Amazon are concerned.

I also have hundreds of fan fic DRM free Audiobooks, again Apple or Android devices and not a Amazon device.
