I am Spanish province of Huesca, Aragon, and I just purchased a Gemstar eBook GEB 1150, and I can not get any book.
I thought they were in. Imp, but once downloaded to Reb1200 Librarian, says that the ebook can not read that book, qu elo delete and try another format.
Can I use that format?.
Convert them to. Imp with the librarian and also BookDesigner 4.0.
If I do something wrong I can say.

Have you tried downloading one of the ebooks from our free book section in .imp format?

The problem could be that I think the gemstar used .rb format? I could be wrong.

Hi I downloaded a book format. Rb, and I said this:
Although ther is an ebook on your ebookwie librarian bookself, it is not suitable for this device.
Please try again with another bookself or create some ebooks formatted for this device.

And when a book is in. Imp, let me download the ebook, and when I open the book tells me the following.
This book cannot be read on this ebook, please remove it and check out another copy from your library.

Thanks for your help, although I think as a team again, I have to migrate or upgrade the firmware.
If anyone knows how to do it I would appreciate that very much.

Have you checked the legacy ereader area of the forum? I think they have more info on the REB there.

Note, it seems to be a higher version number than the firmware I got when I did the migration on my GEB 1150 a few months ago. Gonna try updating it again and see if there's any difference hehe...

Got the SM card 16MB, formatted in FAT, I migracion files, I keep the instructions and the ebook tells me:

You may connect to your Online Bookshelf obtain more content.

Does not perform any of the steps says migracion.
I am desperate please help.

The latest migration files for the GEB1150 can be found at the ETI website here. Or you can download the migration files directly from this link.

You first need to know which firmware version your GEB1150 has, so do the following:

Your eBook must be running firmware 3.1 or higher for this upgrade/migration process to function correctly. The current firmware version can be determined by:

Tap on the Bookshelf button
Tap on the Menu button
Tap on the "info" softmenu item
Tap on "more"

The current firmware version is displayed following "Viewer: ". It must be 3.1 or greater to proceed.

If your firmware (or Viewer) version is below 3.1 then you will need to contact ETI to have them do the migration for you. It cannot be done without a hardware/boot rom fix from them.

If your firmware version is 4.2f17 or greater, then the migration worked and you need to setup the GEB1150 to use the usb driver to connect to the ETI Online servers (i.e. Online Bookshelf). For some additional help, look at this post.

OK, let's try some things before you give up:

Can you read the files INSTALL.ROM and OVERRIDE.PRF on the SM card using your computer's card reader?
Is the SM card already formatted "FAT"?
Did you try to first format the SM card in the GEB1150 reader using the information (item #3) here?
Then, copy the INSTALL.ROM and OVERRIDE.PRF files to the "root" directory of SM card for insertion into the GEB1150. For example, if your computer's SM card reader shows up as Drive E:, then copy those two files to E:\ and not into any subdirectory.
