Above Suspicion by Helen Macinnes has dropped to $0.99 at both Kindle and Kobo US.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/Above-Suspici...dp/B008QNE716/
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/above-suspicion-5

Spoiler:
Quote:
Richard and Frances Myles are preparing for their annual European summer vacation in 1939 when they are visited at their Oxford college by old friend Peter Galt, who has a seemingly simple job for them. But in the heightened atmosphere of pre-war Europe, nobody is above suspicion, in fact the husband and wife are being carefully monitored by shadowy figures.

Above Suspicion was MacInnes’ breakthrough book, a bestseller published in 1941 and released as a movie in 1943, directed by Richard Thorpe and starring Joan Crawford and Fred MacMurray.

“Hide and seek with death - in the shadow of terror... The hallmarks of a MacInnes novel of suspense are as individual and as clearly stamped as a Hitchcock thriller.” -The New York Times

Two titles in the Gervase Fen series by Edmund Crispin have dropped to $1.99 at Kindle US.

The Case of the Gilded Fly, apa Obsequies at Oxford, #1
link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JEJB1K6/
Spoiler:
Quote:
It is October 1940 and at Oxford the Full Term has just begun. Robert Warner, up and coming playwright known for his experimental approach, has chosen an Oxford repertory theater for the premiere of his latest play, Metromania. Together with his cast he comes to Oxford to rehearse a week before the opening, but Warner's troupe is a motley group of actors among whom is the beautiful but promiscuously dangerous Yseut Haskell . She causes quite a stir with her plots, intrigues and love triangles. When she is found shot dead in the college room of a young man who is infatuated with her, everyone is puzzled and worried –most of the actors have had a reason to get rid of the femme fatale and few have alibis.

The police are at loss for answers and are ready to proclaim the incident as suicide, but Gervase Fen, an Oxford don and professor of literature, who thrives off solving mysteries, is ready to help.

The Case of the Gilded Fly, first published in 1944, is Edmund Crispin's debut novel and also the first Gervase Fen Mystery.

The Glimpses of the Moon, #10
link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0062N39B6/
Spoiler:
Quote:
Death and decapitation seem to go hand in hand in the Devon village of Aller. When the first victim's head is sent floating down the river, the village's rural calm is shattered. Soon the corpses are multiplying, and the entire community is involved in the hunt for the murderer. Whilst many chase false trails, it is left to Gervase Fen, Oxford don and amateur criminologist, to uncover the sordid truth. Equal parts compelling, witty and ingenuous, this novel is a classic example of great British detective fiction.

First published in 1977, Glimpses of the Moon was Edmund Crispin's ninth and final novel.

Silks is a non-series title by Dick and Felix Francis. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AO0G9A/
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/silks-2

Spoiler:
Quote:
A lawyer and amateur jockey is torn between doing what’s right and what will keep him alive in this New York Times bestselling thriller from Dick and Felix Francis. Geoffrey Mason wasn’t terribly disappointed when his client Julian Trent was found guilty. Despite being paid handsomely as Trent’s defense counsel, he believes Trent needs to be locked up for a good long time. He only wishes it had happened more quickly—if the trial had ended just a bit earlier, Mason could have made it to the Foxhunter Steeplechase and fulfilled his longtime dream as an amateur jockey. But not long afterward, Trent is set free when witnesses and jurors start recanting—under intimidation, Mason suspects. Remembering Trent’s threats at the time of his conviction, Mason is none too happy. And things only get worse when one of Mason’s fellow jockeys is found dead...

They won't be free if you're in the US, because her books have a different US publisher. These six are regularly free in the UK.

There's an amazon.com link, but people in many countries use Amazon.com (anyone in a country which doesn't have its own national Amazon site). The site will show you books appropriate for your location, which it knows from your account details. The books will be free for anyone who sees the books from the UK publisher rather than the US publisher. If I use the Amazon.com link I see the same six free books that I see through the Amazon.co.uk link, because Amazon knows that I'm in the U.K., and shows me the UK versions of Patricia Wentworth's books, not the US versions.

A bunch of Mary Stewart titles are now $0.99 to $2.99 in the US at both Kindle and Kobo. Although big batches of Mary Stewart titles have been on sale in Canada and the UK, this is the first time I've noticed them on sale in the US. Titles include:

$0.99
 • The Ivy Tree
 • Nine Coaches Waiting
 • Thunder on the Right
 • Madam, Will You Talk?
 • Touch Not the Cat
$1.99
 • Wildfire at Midnight
 • Thornyhold
 • Stormy Petrel
 • The Moon-Spinners
 • This Rough Magic
$2.99
 • Airs Above the Ground
 • The Gabriel Hounds
 • My Brother Michael
 • Rose Cottage

It's a bit confusing to try to get links, because there are multiple authors named Mary Stewart, and getting rid of strays is not easy. I've chosen to leave in the strays to get all of these titles.
