Brand new Ipad not detected

I have run calibre before and managed to get all of my ebooks onto an old ipad.

I am trying to do the same thing again a few months later with a brand new ipad I have just bought and calibre doesnt detect it.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong, I have followed the instructions in the sticky above and had no luck.

Here is my devices debug log;

I do not think you can connect to an iPad if it is running iOS8 or later. Only wireless type connections work nowadays.
