Deleting all notes from an e-book
Can someone explain how to remove all notes/highlights from a particular book on my Kindle?
I create a lot of temporary highlights and notes, and would like to be able to delete all notes from a specific book, without having to click on each one in the "Notes" page. From some web searches, I saw something about deleting .MBP files. I have a Kindle Fire HD 7", with ES File Explorer installed, but I cannot find any .MBP files. This has probably been addressed before, but I tried many different searches in the forums and nothing came up. Thanks! Last edited by cchace; 09-18-2017 at 01:43 PM. Reason: typo |

Have you tried connecting the Fire to your computer with a USB cable? Then open "Kindle" (or maybe "Fire"), and Documents.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried connecting the Kindle to my PC. It appeared in Windows Explorer under "This PC", but no files/folders appeared under it. If I right-clicked on it, it gave the option to download videos/pictures, but nothing else.
Thanks for trying! :-) |

It might help if the O.P. had posted in the proper (Kindle Android) forum.

When I plug my Kindle in via USB, I can see three folders on the Kindle using Windows Explorer. One of them is called "documents" and within that the notes file have the extension ".mbp1".
If you are not seeing the folders at all, then it's possibly a permissions thing or something. Might be worth Googling about how to access the folders on your Kindle? |

The O.P. is posting about an Android (color) Kindle, not an e-ink Kindle. I see in your info box that you have both, please mention which type you are seeing that on. = = = = PS: There are more than three folders, your copy of Windows Explorer is optioned to hide some of them from you. Bill Gates thinks (thought when he still worked at MS) it is for your own good. Last edited by knc1; 09-21-2017 at 08:35 AM. |

deleting old highlights makes room for new ones
Dear community,
I have a Kindle Touch 6 I think. In my case, deleting old highlights does create space for new highlights. There is only one book in whose case it did not work, but in the case of the rest of the books (tens of them), it has worked every time. The only inconvenience is that I have to delete each individual quote separately. I wish there were a way to delete all old quotes in a book at once. I haven't found a way so I have to delete them one by one. Once I've deleted the old quotes, the next batch of new quotes will be exported to my e-mail address. And so on. Here's a piece of advice, though: try exporting your quotes after the first hundred pages or so of the book, then delete them on your Kindle, then read the next hundred or so pages and make new highlights, export them to wherever, then delete them from your Kindle, and so on, as opposed to reading the whole book and highlighting throughout the book - the first tens of highlights will be exported in order, but only part of the rest of the highlights will be exported, and some will be missing, and it will be very difficult then to fix things. |
