Incomplete book

Sometimes when I add a book to my library the entire book is not there . Does this happen to anyone else and do they find it annoying

The incomplete information in your question about incomplete books makes your question impossible to answer. This is liable to be annoying to people that would like to help.

If I feel that I have been misled about whether a book is "whole" my solution is to generally ignore the "rest" of the book, and the author who might do it again.

This sounds like a Calibre issue. But we won't know for sure until the OP comes back and says so.

Any chance we can make first time users go through a training session on how to ask questions?

Then if they don't do it properly we can shoot them!

That is, of course, presuming that they have filled in a location on their profile and it is sufficiently accurate and specific.

There's a lot of that going around.
Global tolerance and empathy levels are trending downwards.


So is quality control at many publishers.
There is only so much employee pink slip-ing you can do before checks and balances get out of balance. I've seen a steady increase in complaints about BPH ebooks over the past few years. Books with missing or transposed pages, duplicate paragraphs, bad formatting...

The same things that "bad" Indies are accused of.

Why should long term users have to post opinions and not facts?

I do believe he was referring to posters that state their opinions as facts. Not that long term posters couldn't post facts.
Example: Apples are horrible.
That looks like a fact when it is in fact an opinion.
Note: I am in fact not real fond of apples. They are way to bland.

What type of apple? I'm rather fond of Braeburn, Salish and Spartan but Pink Ladies are, as you said, bland. OTOH, when cooking, I tend to go for Jonagold, Ambrosia and Granny Smith apples.
