I can understand birds having their own room, with lots of sound deadening insulation. Some of those critters can make more noise than a 747.

Yes, one of them, a Mealy Amazon, is loud enough to be heard 2 miles away (if he were outside). So it has been a blessing to have them separated. They were not for the first 12 years

Only one of them is a good talker, I wouldn't want to give her any ideas!

Volume control works on my devices (say "Volume up/down on *device name*"). I tested this using both Dash Wand and Fire HD 8 to control device volume.

Music Everywhere is a great feature. I do have a few problems with it, however.

I can use my dedicated Echo/Dot Remote to start Music Everywhere, but it won't control any subsequent functions (stop, skip, pause, etc.). This is inconvenient. I can control all functions with Dash Wand and Fire HD 8, though.

Also, as stated up-thread, it doesn't work with Bluetooth speakers. And Music Everywhere doesn't work with the Tap.

My Dash Wand seems a little bit hit-or-miss about playing music. It kept telling me that music wasn't supported on the Dash Wand, or that it didn't understand. After a few tries it finally played, and then stopped when I told it to.

This is not strictly echo related, I don't think, but maybe you lot can help figure this out.
I woke up this morning to find two emails from Amazon waiting for me. One from 10:45 last night confirming my order, and one from this morning letting me know my order shipped. Problem is I didn't place any order last night. At 10:45 I was sound asleep (long day at six flags ).
Now, it is an item I occasionally reorder and is in my carts "save for later" area, so it's not inconceivable I could have accidently ordered it, but I checked my browser history, and there is no sign of me being on the ordering screens around that time.
I check Alex's history and there is no sign of a voice order. I was looking at this item the day before, but I don't know if there is even a way to do a delayed "one click." I confirmed I didn't do the "subscribe and save" thing.
All Amazon can tell me is the time the order was placed, and that it was a one click order, not the IP address it came from, or what kind of device.
They are refunding my money, which is nice, but I'm far more concerned with understanding how this happened.
I seem to recall hearing something similar reported by another forumite a while back.

I've never had any use for the magnetic remote holder that came with my original Echo, but I just discovered that it works great as a small knife bar!

I mounted it on the side of my refrigerator, in the food-prep area. The magnet's very strong, so the knife won't fall off.

I mounted a small metal plate on the shelves beside my bed and put the remote there. You're right; the magnet is strong. I use the remote mostly for pausing whatever Alexa's playing rather than having to shout a command. Alexa can hear a softly spoken request from across the room perfectly fine, but not when she's busy talking. Or maybe she just doesn't like being interrupted.

Well, after two months of convincing myself I didn't really need a home bluetooth speaker for my Dot, I finally failed and ordered the Marshall Acton. $160 minus a $40 gift-card for signing up for an Amazon store card, finally got it down to a price that didn't make me queasy.

At least I can take pride in the fact that I didn't give in to the temptation of the $249 80w Stanmore model.
