I grant you that it melts nicely, but it's not cheese. Give me real cheese, whether grainy or stringy or blobby when melted.

I thought I read on the box processed cheese spread. I had read wrong. It is pasteurized processed cheese product. I think that is even worse.

Now can you please send me some less than $14 a quart pure maple syrup this fall, some real Vermont cheese would be nice too.

We do have summer squash here, it's not that cold, but okra's more of a stretch and I do like it. Actually, I like most foods or at least am willing to eat them, short of Andrew Zimmern territory. One major exception is

We have a fondue pot. Real cheese, milk and stir till right consistency. American cheese not the process kind melts well but I like my cheddar or montery jack.

Yes, but that is W O R K.

Here is a cheese sauce tip I learned last week, using real cheese. (Mozzarella worked great).
1 tablespoon fat (oil or butter)and 1 tablespoon flour per 1 cup milk and 1 cheese.
Combine the fat and flour, then slowly add the milk until thick or smooth. Add cheese and stir until melted.
Not to be all fancy but I was making Pasta Bolognese.

You just add cheese, milk and watch it melt then once it gets lumpy you stir the lumps until melted. Maybe I should've mention my fondue pot is electric. It's pretty much like making Mac 'n cheese but without noodles and less stirring.

We have a fondue as well, but one with a little burner under it. I always use white wine instead of milk - yummy!

I'm fixing a dinner I call Cuppa Crap & Crackers. It's basically stew beef in a crock pot with cream cheese, potatoes, onions, Normandy vegetables, a can of tomatoes and okra, and seasonings served with crackers. It's pretty tasty. One of the few creations I've come up with that the family actually likes.

You are making me hungry! I would use toasted bread instead of crackers but I love bread.

We survive on Chunky soup and bread.

Beef and ale pie, potato Dauphinois, baby sweet corn, green beans, broccoli, baked mushrooms, cavalo nero cabbage and gravy. Very nice it was too, if I say so myself.

Apple and blackberry crumble currently in the oven for dessert.
