After jailbreak, I can not registering amz account
Hello,

I just took a Kindle gen 1 from my room-mate, and jailbreak it

I downgrade from 5.6.1.1 to 5.3.3 and jailbreak like instruction, installed KoReader

everything was great until I realized that I can not de-registering my amz account (Unable to Connect) and "Update your Kindle" in grey-out.
P/S: I need this because "Send to Kindle" feature doesn't work.

I try everything including "Reset Device" and Now I can not register my amz to Kindle.

Can you help me?

Well, "Reset Device" erased important parts of the jailbreak.
So re-install the jailbreak.

Then update to the most recent, 5.6.1.1 version firmware.
The communication protocols used by earlier firmwares are no longer supported by the Amazon network.

And it is not a "Kindle Gen 1" - the first generation Kindles did not have a touch screen and none of them run 5.x series firmware.

Use the first six characters of the device's serial number and this table:
https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kindle_Serial_Numbers
to learn what model nickname we use here to identify exactly what model a person is discussing.

The "generation x" phrases are from the Marketing department, and as such are unreliable.

yeah, My Kindle is okie now but "Update your Kindle" is still grey.

Your firmware is too new for UYK to work.
Amazon/Lab126 blocked that a long time ago.

You must use MrPI (Mobileread Package Installer) to install packages.
The packages to be installed must be placed in /mrpackages.
That directory will be installed when you install MrPI.

The MrPI package is a simple, un-archive to top level of visible USB storage package.
Use the MrPI copy available from "NiLuJe's Snapshots Thread".
Read the first post of that thread to learn how to deal with the *.xz compressed pacakges.

yeah, I just do all (copy file with exact pixel,etc), restart the frameworks,... in KUAL

but the screensaver is not changed

  4. When the device and your account both show that it is registered and Special Offers removed, do in order:
    1. Install again the 'hotfix'
    2. Install again MrPI
    3. Install again Python
    4. Install again the screensaver add-in

You must do all of those things in exactly that order.
That is the only way to make the screensavers work on your device.
