This matches what I've experienced with the 720 firmware. I've been very happy with the way my Cybook has been working since the last update. If they came out with a firmware update that supports folders I would be over the moon.

Yes, as Derek pointed out, folks who were earlier adopters than I did experience more bugs. My Gen3 had 538 installed when I bought it.

When you say it hang on starup how long did you wait? I have never had it hang (but I only reboot when I by mistake run out of battery) but it has sometimes taken a very long time to boot (minutes).

Let me clarify my experience: my Cybook usually takes about 20 seconds to boot; when it takes more than 40 seconds with the green light on, I presume it has crashed.

So I reboot.

That is, as far as I am concerned, a crash. Another "type" of crash is when I turn a page and it frezes. Permanently. It is not often, but it happens sometimes (I never really paid much attention to it, specially on the type of file it is running).

Another thing is when I run out of battery. It happened to me several times - but that is evidently not a crash. Just lack of attention.

(someone said next firmware will include a battery level indicator permanently when reading, like the 505 does - that would be usefull)

Normally the initial splash screen (the one with the black background) is on display for perhaps 10-15 seconds. If it gets to about a minute and it's still there, I consider that a "hang" and press the reset button. Perhaps I'm just not waiting long enough?

Any idea why it should stick for minutes on that screen? Whatever could it be doing in that time, do you think?

This is what I do as well, if it takes more than a minute to get through the initial screen I figure something it wrong. The 2nd screen can take a longer amount of time depending on the number of books installed, but the initial screen seems pretty consistent time wise, to my eyes anyway.

This happens to me all of the time. It will not happen for a week or two, then it will happen 3 times within an hour of each other. I don't get it and it's VERY annoying, considering it doesn't save your reading progress as you go. If this freeze happens and I reset it, it goes back to the page I turned the Cybook onto.

I'm running build 820 (newest). Any fixes for this yet?

This sounds to me as though you might have either a corrupt file system or a corrupt book. Have you checked the file system integrity?

I get the startup hang occasionally, but haven't so far had any crashes while reading or during page turns.

Got a crash yesterday. It was caused with having a MobiPocket with html code using tables. I do not know if MobiPocket is supposed to support tables or not. The source for the book was a html page I had just converted to mobi using html2mobi.

It supports "simple" tables, whatever that might mean .

Heh. Any table it supports is "simple." Any that it doesn't is "complex."

I remember that even with sinple tables - that it could display - the line width was messed up and didn't necessarily fit the screen.

Even if it might theoretically support tables, in practise it doesn't.

I gotta start using stuff like that in our software docs. It's so obvious.
