Then I probably shouldn't tell you this, but you can move some apps to the SD card since kitkat (4.4) and newer OS (6.0 and above) can handle the SD card as internal memory (I think it's the default, too)

I like setting the SD card as portable- this way I can just save pics/video to it, replace whenever I run out of space, label the filled SD card and put it in the drawer.

In case anyone cares besides me... this did not automatically roll over to another year added to my KU subscription, so today in nosing around, I decided to resend the gift notification to me < g >, I clicked on the email and it said I'd been gifted a year of KU. I waited a bit, and then checked the KU subscription settings which now tells me

"On July 21, 2018, your membership will roll over to a 12 Month Membership." - so I'm good until July 21, 2019!

I applied mine about a year ago, so all year it told me it would update to a 2 year subscription on my end date. Mine automatically updated and I now have two more years.

The reviews on the Prime Day Element 65" Fire TV are shattering....So many received undamaged boxes with shattered screens inside. Many, many more say their devices went bad within days or weeks.

I read a PC Magazine review of the Element 65" Fire TV and it's actually not all that good.

The slightly undersaturated reds of the Element are apparent on Deadpool on Ultra HD Blu-ray. Deadpool's red costume looks natural but not particularly vivid, and the red plaid of Wade's sherpa jacket at the beginning of the movie appears slightly drab. Skin tones also look just slightly yellow-red under warm lights in indoor scenes, though they generally appear natural in most other lighting conditions.

The Great Gatsby on Ultra HD Blu-ray further highlights the Element's minor color accuracy issues and shows off the TV's mediocre black level. Skin tones occasionally skew slightly pink or yellow depending on the scene, appearing natural only about half the time. In high-contrast scenes with lots of shadow, the general contours of the black suits can be seen, but the texture of the fabric and the individual cuts and creases are sometimes lost in muddy blackness. The tinting isn't overwhelming, and the shadows aren't overly muddy, but it isn't quite as nice a picture as it could be.

Ok, so we now have bad TVs and wrong phones. Makes me wonder if Prime Day is really worth the hype.

Definitely been worth it to me the past two years.
But other than the Instant Pot last year, I see it more as an opportunity for lots of smallish credits and promos than as a chance for big deals on major purchases.
(and really the IP was not that major a purchase either.)

I'm happy enough with Prime Day; I would have liked an incentive to buy some higher-priced items that I want but don't especially need, and I didn't get that, but I did pick up various unexciting necessities at good prices.

On another note, my Amazon Phone bought over a year ago decided it would swell up like crazy. I only noticed when the wifi module quit working, so I could not download an audiobook to listen to (I long ago quit using it as a phone, but it was an ok backup that could use refills from walmart). So, off to the great disposal site in the sky it goes. No repair or replacement from Amazon.

Yes, the Fire Phone. I did use it as a phone a bit when I first got it, but eventually relegated it to overpriced audio player. Now it is an overpriced Fire Hazard, instead.

I use mine every day as an eReader and audio player. I added Google Play on it and I'm quite happy with my phablet.
