Adding books in ".txt" format and getting author/title

I'm moving a large collection of books into a Calibre-curated library, and am having a devil of a time getting the author and title correct for such books. Since I got them from fictionwise, they have file names like "CarlTCStone.txt", but when I do an "Add books", I get the file name displayed as the title, and the Author as "Unknown." Since I'm doing this one author at a time, I can readily bulk-change the author to the correct name, but the Title shows up as "CarlTCStone."

All of these books start with the following four lines:

The Charm Stone
by Lillian Stewart Carl
======================
is there a plugin or some other means of getting the title/author correct on loading the book?

Since txt has no defined format for metadata, what you would need to do is write a script that reads the metadata and renames the file inserting the metadata into the filename. Then import the files into calibre.
