Good book, good price, not just a great SF novel, but a great novel, IMO.

The Cecelia and Kate Novels (Sorcery & Cecelia, The Grand Tour, and The Mislaid Magician) by Patricia C. Wrede & Caroline Stevermer is currently $1.99 for the set in the US.

This is a really great deal, they are written in the form of letters between the characters so the style is somewhat different but if you enjoy regency mixed with magic and don't mind young characters then it's worth picking up. I enjoyed it although I thought the first book was the best

https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the...nd-kate-novels
https://www.amazon.com/Cecelia-Kate-.../dp/B00NVZPCUE

A trio of bewitching novels featuring devoted cousins who must juggle their magical powers with their duties as ladies in Regency-era England.

Enter Regency-era England—and a world in which magical mayhem and high society go hand in hand—with three novels featuring cousins Cecelia and Kate.

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley is also on sale for $1.99 in the US at amazon. I haven't read this but have read and enjoyed some other novels of the author

Amazon.co.uk has:

Charlaine Harris: Dancers in the Dark & Layla Steps Up: The Layla Collection at £1.49, the others don't seem to be discounted (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dancers-Dar...arlaine+harris)

Simon R Green: Drinking Midnight Wine at £2.32 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Drinking-Mi...=simon+r+green I also noticed books 2 & 3 of the Forest Kingdoms series at £2.49 [but book 1 is £4.50], and a lot of his Nightside series at £1.99, and I'm tempted by the 2 Hawk & Fisher omnibuses at £6.51 each.

The Aliette de Bodard https://www.amazon.co.uk/Servant-Und...iterary+Agency is £2.74

Yes, I've read The Mists of Avalon and it is a good book. But I'm not sure I can read or recommend anyone read anything written by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

She's been accused of abuse by her daughter. If that's true, then morally, I cannot read Marion's books ever again.

I read her book about 20-odd years ago.

Rogues, an anthology of stories from a number of well known fantasy authors, has dropped to 1.99 on Amazon.

link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IWTTPOI/

Synopsis:
Quote:
If you’re a fan of fiction that is more than just black and white, this latest story collection from #1 New York Times bestselling author George R. R. Martin and award-winning editor Gardner Dozois is filled with subtle shades of gray. Twenty-one all-original stories, by an all-star list of contributors, will delight and astonish you in equal measure with their cunning twists and dazzling reversals. And George R. R. Martin himself offers a brand-new A Game of Thrones tale chronicling one of the biggest rogues in the entire history of Ice and Fire.

Follow along with the likes of Gillian Flynn, Joe Abercrombie, Neil Gaiman, Patrick Rothfuss, Scott Lynch, Cherie Priest, Garth Nix, and Connie Willis, as well as other masters of literary sleight-of-hand, in this rogues gallery of stories that will plunder your heart—and yet leave you all the richer for it.

Featuring all-new stories by

Joe Abercrombie • Daniel Abraham • David W. Ball • Paul Cornell • Bradley Denton • Phyllis Eisenstein • Gillian Flynn • Neil Gaiman • Matthew Hughes • Joe R. Lansdale • Scott Lynch • Garth Nix • Cherie Priest • Patrick Rothfuss • Steven Saylor • Michael Swanwick • Lisa Tuttle • Carrie Vaughn • Walter Jon Williams • Connie Willis

The Summer Tree: Book One of the Fionavar Tapestry, by Guy Gavriel Kay is $2.99 at Amazon.com

Quote:
It all began with a lecture that introduced five university students to a man who would change their lives, a wizard who would take them from Earth to the heart of the first of all worlds--Fionavar. And take them Loren Silvercloak did, for his need--the need of Fionavar and all the worlds--was great indeed.

Agreed, but I'm not going to argue with it.

Probably an automatic price-match gone amuck and we get to benefit from it.
