Export CSV of specific view?

Is there any way to export a CSV list of books but with the fields and sorting based on the columns and sorting currently active in the UI rather than the default (which looks like it might just be based on the internal ids for the books)?

The Command line tool:
Calibredb -list

Read the documentation in the Help site pages. You can select fields, and sorting (among other things)

I find it easier to cull, rearrange, and sort columns etc in a CSV specific utility; mostly that's CSVFileView, but if it's not good enough then Excel.

So I save all the columns via the CSV catalogue feature, row selectivity is determined by the current VL and/or Search,
